Venues cancel right-wing Labour MP Callum Anderson’s events over Gaza

MP claims he cancelled ‘Meet your MP’ events because of protest threat, but protesters say venues cancelled on him over genocide

By journalist David WKH.

Labour MP Callum Anderson, who represents the constituency of Buckingham and Bletchley, has cancelled two scheduled “Meet Your MP” sessions following warnings from a protest group known as the Yellow Boiler Suits.

The group, which has been actively targeting Labour MPs they believe are failing to adequately address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, planned a peaceful demonstrations outside The Crooked Billet pub in Newton Longville, Milton Keynes, and The Old Thatched Inn in Adstock, Buckingham.

According to the Yellow Boiler Suits, they contacted both venues in advance to inform them of their intentions.

They assured pub staff and management that the protests would be peaceful, respectful, and remain outside the property lines. As a goodwill gesture, the group offered to cancel their demonstrations if the venues chose to withdraw their hosting of the MP.
Both pubs accepted the offer and subsequently cancelled Anderson’s bookings. One venue stated:

We have cancelled the meeting of the Labour MP as we do not want any association with them.

MP Responds to Cancellation

In response, Anderson issued a statement via social media claiming that he was the one who had cancelled – in order to spare the venues the “burden” of hosting them:

I’m afraid I have made the decision to cancel my upcoming ‘Meet Your MP’ sessions at the Old Thatched Inn and The Crooked Billet. Both pubs have received warnings from a protest group planning to demonstrate outside the premises during these events, in response to the Government’s position on the situation in Gaza.

I cannot, in good conscience, ask our hospitality venues to bear the burden of hosting these events under circumstances that could impact their business or put additional pressure on their staff. I won’t risk local establishments losing revenue, and people have the right to enjoy a quiet drink without disruption.

How group Investigates MPs

The Yellow Boiler Suits say they use constituency maps to identify Labour MPs, then investigate their voting records, public statements, and any lobbying donations, particularly from pro-Israel sources. While there is no evidence that Anderson has received donations from pro-Israel lobbies, the group claims that constituents who contacted him about Labours stance on Gaza received responses such as:

The Prime Minister has rightly described the situation as a humanitarian catastrophe, and I fully support his leadership in responding to this crisis.

The group dismissed this as a “cop-out” arguing that Labour MPs should be challenging Keir Starmer and his cabinet on their position regarding Israel, rather than echoing party lines. The Yellow Boiler Suits have stated their intention to continue peacefully targeting MPs they believe are not doing enough to advocate for Palestinians in Gaza.

  1. The Yellow Boiler Suits say they use constituency maps to identify Labour MPs, then investigate their voting records, public statements, and any lobbying donations,

Welcome in Wallasey anytime illeagles doing a photo op, or what have ya. 👍😉

  2. Thanks for the tip Skwawky.

Note to self: Nip down to the local bookies first thing Saturday morning before the odds shorten of the Yellow Boiler Suits being the next group to be proscribed as a “terrorist” organisation.

    1. Starmer’s incisive legal mind is already a step ahead of you on this, Dave. It’s not the Hi-Viz support workers that are the terrorists; it’s the constituents themselves! Think about it: Robert Bradford in 1981, Jo Cox in 2016, and David Amess (2021)—they were all murdered by constituents!

Your ‘rights’ aren’t rights, (if someone can take them away) they’re privileges and people are just not taking this privilege seriously enough. The (1-in-5) democratically elected Government needs a new electorate!

Ever since HomeSec Cooper and OutSourcing Manager Starmer tested it on Palestine Action, The Terrorism Act 2000 is a UK law that defines and criminalises various forms of free-thought and freedom of opinion and related activities.

    1. WOW. Great find, PW.
That Compass/Survation poll should be telling Starmer that he should immediately fck-off because he’s the leader of the wrong party (but it won’t).

92% of Labour members support bringing water into public ownership.
91% back the introduction of a wealth tax on the super-rich.
89% want a fair migration system rooted in a tradition of welcome.
84% support stopping arms sales to Israel to work toward a lasting ceasefire.
84% want the two-child benefit cap scrapped to cut child poverty.
75% oppose the granting of new oil and gas licences.
74% believe MPs should not lose the whip for opposing bad laws.
66% support moving to a proportional representation system.
The leadership has been criticised for ignoring these views, with actions such as rejecting wealth taxes, continuing arms sales to Israel, and refusing to scrap the two-child limit.
The poll is seen as a clear message to the leadership to adopt a more left-wing radical, morally purposeful agenda.

Wouldn’t it be something if the ENTIRE LABOUR party resigned and joined Jeremy and Zarah’s embryonic political movement, YOUR PARTY?

      1. Arguably, the most interesting thing about that poll [thanks again, PW] is that it is from the LP membership which exists at present. The membership which remains after not too far off a decade of increasing McCartyite culls and pogroms against the ‘wrong’ type of members.

Clearly, the policies listed have the poll numbers which are detailed, which tell us that those are policies which are supported by the vast majority of the remaining membership.

However, the easy assumption to make is that just because the Party in its present role as the Government is pursuing the opposite of those policies, that ergo there exists a fundamental gap between the Party/Government and the present membership.

Because no one has asked those members the question, “do you consider that these policies are being pursued by the Party now that it is in Government, Yes/No?”

Given the off the scale and depth of the propaganda official narratives, it is not inconceivable that an equally large proportion of the present membership – perhaps even a majority – actually perceive that the Party in its role as the Government is pursuing or working towards pursuing the policies they claim they support.

It is equally conceivable that they don’t think this is the case but are taking the shallow position that of “my team, right or wrong” because it’s all about keeping the “other” team down rather than doing the business and pursuing a different paradigm. In other words, they may support these policies in principle but are prepared to accept the opposite as long as it’s their “team” in charge “at the top of the table/at the top table, nominally in Government.

Either way, it would not necessarily be (to borrow a term from Brown) prudent to assume that the majority would jump ship for the new Party. Remember, many of those same remaining members were comfortable removing many of those purged from the party or played an active part in securing that outcome.

      2. DaveH – yeah – despite SteveH’s claims – you’re right: “membership which remains – after decade of .. McCartyite culls and pogroms against the ‘wrong’ type of members” remains recognisably LEFT of CENTRE.

Zarah and Jeremy’s Your Party is happening at exactly the right time… and in the right way. LOVE it!

      3. qwerty – “despite SteveH’s claim”

        What claim would that be?
        🤔

      4. It seems a safe and obvious bet, Billy, that what is being referred to here is despite your oft repeated and evidence free TINA routine and Thatcher tribute act that such policies do not a represent a [checks notes] “credible” option, that even a majority among the hand-picked and micromanaged majority remaining largely right wing rump of membership disagree with the failed and collapsing paradigm you have been pushing and making excuses for over recent years.

Presumably the [alleged] Caribbean has finally and thankfully (at least for the moment) run out of dead gets to slam on the table to distract the discussion away from realities that are uncomfortable and embarrassing for you.

As a matter of interest, have you fixed that hole in your bucket yet?

PS: I see you’ve switched from music to films with the emojis. Albeit another easy one – “Don’t Look Up”. You should make that one your Gravatar.

      5. Dave – Oh dear, you’re rambling again. 😔

        Are you feeling OK 😟

      6. “What claim would that be?”

What DaveH saild. You defend Peter Thiel’s friend as the notional ‘leader’ of a party with which he has no shared beliefs.
By the way Dave Hansell, I’d say the culls and pogroms against moderate socialist members of the Labour party started soon after Tony Blair was elected leader in 1994 – so it’s more than ‘a decade’, nearer three!

      7. qwerty – I haven’t a clue what you are prattling on about, do you?

Maybe Toffee will help you out of you ask him nicely.

      8. You’re a day late, Billy. Friday is usually my hiking day.

Still pushing the emoji’s test, I see.

That first one is clearly another version of “Don’t Look Up” and I see you’ve moved quickly from films to fictional characters with the second one – which is the emoji for Alfred E Neuman from MAD Magazine.

        Keep ’em coming, kid.

      9. Dave – “You’re a day late,”

Am I, and the reason I should care one way or t’other is?

        ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

      10. ………Because you are clearly still trying to figure a way to mend that leaky bucket, Billy.

Have you actually got anything original to demonstrate that doll’s head of yours has an OS beyond DoS 1.0? Or are you going to sit there all day with your thumb up your arse and your brain in neutral repeating the same lame lines like a Poundworld Otto West?

      11. Dave – Why should I care what you think, you’re the one who is desperately trying to impress everyone with how clever you think you are. I’m content to sit back and observe you confirming my opinion of you and exposing yourself for what you are. 🌞

      12. Billy, you’re repeating yourself again. Go and have a lie down and come back to us when you have something original.

In fact, go and have sex with something. Tell them it’s an emergency.

      13. Dave – Oh dear, how desperate are you.
Is that playground nonsense really the best that you could manage. For goodness sake, please grow up a bit.

      14. Take the compliment, Billy.

Have you not yet sussed out that what is going on here is imitation of your level?

  3. Same tired arld shite.

The observation everyone – but EVEYONE makes of ypu is that you’re akin to the israeli state.

eg. a virtually universally despised pariah, demanding everyone accept your bullshi; playing the victim when you’re called out, and denigrating those who do, despite coming back with anything relevant to your defence.

    1. Toffee – Oh, how sweet of you.
      I love you too 😘.

ps: I don’t feel like a victim, do you?

      1. It’s my party, and I’ll cry if I want to by Lesley Gore. Released April 5th 1963.

Have you run out of emoji’s yet, Billy?
