Global Jews for Palestine event on Thursday sees anti-Zionist Jewish speakers from around the world come together against genocide and occupation
“Silence is complicity!” says the Global Jews for Palestine (GJP) group, a coalition of Jewish organizations from 20 countries across the globe, as it hosts a gathering this Thursday (24 July) in what it calls “a timely conversation” titled: “EMBRACING PALESTINIAN LIBERATION AND BUILDING ANTI-ZIONIST JEWISH COMMUNITY”, with Hungarian-born Canadian doctor, author and Holocaust survivor Dr Gabor Maté headlining alongside speakers from Argentina, Germany, Canada, and New Zealand.
The programme is being co-hosted by Haymarket Books. Jessica Sherman, a GJP member and long-time anti-apartheid activist from South Africa, said that the group’s aim is to oppose the collusion of western governments in Israel’s war crimes and crimes against humanity, including genocide:
We stand in firm opposition to the lockstep support for Israel’s continued genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people coming from mainstream Jewish organizations. Our voices and action as anti-Zionist Jews committed to the movement for Palestinian justice and to challenging fascism globally are more critical than ever.
Part of the impetus for the discussion was the recent release of GJP’s manifesto outlining its commitments and obligations as anti-Zionist Jews at this moment. It states that:
We believe that now is the time to aggregate the voices and actions of Jews who dissent from the Zionist consensus, so that we may fight together for a viable and just future for all.
Member groups of Global Jews for Palestine work in close partnership with Palestinian groups within their respective countries. The groups range in size and scope and face differing realities within their countries, but all are deeply committed to challenging what they call Jewish community complicity in genocide, and to acting with deep conviction for justice in Palestine and globally. Most recently, several members have joined from the Global South – from Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Chile.

• Gabor Maté, a Hungarian-Canadian physician and best-selling author, is renowned for his work on addiction, trauma, and childhood development and is a passionate spokesperson in support of justice for the Palestinian people.

Israel’s genocide is big business – and the face of the future
The Financial Times revealed this month that a cabal of Israeli investors, one of the world’s top business consulting groups and a think-tank headed by former British prime minister Tony Blair had been secretly working on plans to exploit the ruins of Gaza as prime real estate.
The secret consortium appears to have been seeking practical ways to realise US President Donlad Trump’s “vision” of Gaza as the “Riviera of the Middle East”: transforming the small coastal enclave into a playground for the rich and an enticing investment opportunity, once it can be ethnically cleansed of its Palestinian population.
These revelations came to light as the United Nation’s special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, published a report – titled “From economy of occupation to economy of genocide” – exposing Big Business’ extensive involvement in, and profits from, Israel’s crimes in Gaza.
In an interview with US journalist Chris Hedges, Albanese, an expert in international law, concluded: “The genocide in Gaza has not stopped, because it is lucrative. It’s profitable for far too many.”….

It beggars credulity that the UK Government and the individuals which make up that Government from Starmer downwards are unaware of this.
It is as near to a dead certainty as it is possible to get that this is the reason why the UK and at least a large proportion of twenty-seven other countries – if not all of them – are calling for a cease fire.
Yesterday’s farcical debate in Parliament gave the game away with the consistent references to the possibility of separating the West Bank from a Hamas run Gaza.
The magical thinking of these parasites seems to be pointing towards a “two state ‘solution'” which could well be based on a Palestinian State run by the compromised bought and paid for Palestinian Authority on the West Bank; with Gaza being emptied of Palestinians – which can be conveniently blamed on Netenyahu (nothing to do with us Guv’) who is not long for this world anyway – to enable this monstrosity to take place.

If we can get the likes of JC’s party in and similar around the world we can put peace & co-operation with ALL countries first then with state led public investment etc the world can move away from Warfare.
