Jewish anti-genocide activist Bash arrested as Starmer continues ‘lawfare’ on pro-Palestine speech

Yet another Jewish person targeted as UK regime moves to protect genocidal Israel

Graham Bash.

Jewish anti-genocide activist Graham Bash, a leading figure in Jewish Voice for Labour and partner of Black Jewish activist Jackie Walker, has been arrested by the Metropolitan Police and is being held in custody at Hammersmith Police Station – and denied vital medication that was taken away from him by the police.

Ms Walker told Skwawkbox that she had only been allowed a five-minute phone call with him and that the police do not appear to have decided whether they’re going to charge Bash with anything, but that the arrest had followed Bash’s attendance at a rally against the proscription of now-banned anti-genocide activist group Palestine Action. Walker told Skwawkbox that they had been expecting the police to target them and that:

We both felt that people shouldn’t be silenced in this way (through the government’s lawfare on pro-Palestine activism) and he made his decision that he was going to stand up. Not everyone can as everyone’s circumstances are different, obviously, but for us it was clear.

Bash had his medication with him in anticipation of police action, but this was removed from him when he was taken into custody; the police said they would go to the home he shares with Walker to obtain a fresh set of meds, but none have turned up. Walker hopes he will be released tomorrow but the couple have had no indication of how long he’ll be held it could be as long as a week.

Bash is the latest in a long line of Jewish anti-genocide activists targeted by the Starmer regime, which it has been exposed coordinating with the Israeli embassy and other pro-Israel groups against left-wing Jews particularly, because they expose the Israeli ‘hasbara’ line that Zionism is synonymous with Judaism as the antisemitic lie that it is.

This racist targeting of Jews who do not agree with the racist colonial ideology is an extension of the pattern Starmer set as opposition leader, purging Labour of left-wing Jews and taking disciplinary action against them, and especially their leaders, at a rate more than two hundred times higher than for non-Jewish members – and it is only escalating as Starmer tries desperately to limit the public’s awareness of Israel’s genocidal murder of 400,000 or more innocent Palestinians, half of them children.

  1. I said once he was elected leader, that he was the most dangerous politician in the history of the UK. Now this targeting of Jews strikes me as the sort of internecine hatred you get in various religions such as Christians, Muslims, and I am sure there are others. Maybe it’s noy a specific religious group, just the Netanyahu tendency and the reasonable tendency. But Starmer certainly seems to be full of “issues” regarding Israel, …. the old, the young, the sick, the poor, and the unemployed. Compare and contrast how he is with Trump, Israeli ministers, those who throw him cash for specs and suits, and the folk he sees at Davos. Government policy seems entirely directed at protecting the rich. Look at the recent announcement that favours the Royal Mail, or the u-turn about zonal electricity charging, or the reason for having pylons … because it is cheaper for the rich owners (including Blackrock) of the National Grid.

    1. A theme discussed here, where the replacement of International Law by the Lawfare of the Oligarch’s Rules Based Order from the International level right down to the local level, is detailed:

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcqnmTDJJMI&ab_channel=NeutralityStudies

Although the conclusion of the discussion which boils down to the trite ‘it could take twenty years’ to, in effect, get to where we need to be misses the point entirely that in that time not only will millions of more people be murdered by these sociopaths and countless citizens will be outlawed through lawfare, and impoverished etc, but also that those perpetuating these crimes who are running this crime syndicate with impunity will get away Scott free.

The bottom line is that there is no recognisable rule of law at any level as a result of the reality that a small number of powerful elites control the entire system for their own convenience.

There exists no legal, peaceful or rational mechanism to prevent these people and their paid political, security, media agents from continuing to slaughter, imprison, outlaw and wage war against anyone either abroad or within their own population with impunity, indefinitely.

While ever the delusion persists that the present rigged system, as described in the above podcast, can somehow be used or reformed to tackle what is taking place more and more people will be slaughtered; more and more people will be imprisoned as “terrorists”; and more and more people will be outlawed – denied bank accounts, basic services, access to facilities and so on.

Right now, the only practical viable way to stop what is going on can be summed up in John F. Kennedy’s observation that: “Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.”

    2. I said exactly the same Winter, from the time he wanted to be a Labour MP when he wasn’t even a member. I’ve seen him ‘rise’ through the ranks of the Democratic Socialist Labour Party to where he is now. He’s a stooge, a plant, and he’s doing exactly the job he was put there to do.

  2. Just came across the following Guardian article, posted earlier this evening:

More than 70 protesters across UK arrested for allegedly holding signs supporting Palestine Action

More than 70 people have been arrested across the UK in several demonstrations where references to Palestine Action were allegedly made, a week after the group was banned as a terrorist organisation.

Protesters gathered for the second week in a row in central London after police reiterated that showing support for the group was a criminal offence, resulting in the Metropolitan police making 42 arrests….

And there were over 300 police officers involved!

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/jul/12/arrests-for-second-week-running-at-london-event-that-references-palestine-action

    1. “And there were over 300 police officers involved!”

And while that is their priority, there is no reason to give them 1p extra.

I would be astonished if a JURY found any of them guilty, a view I suspect also held by government ministers and the Commissioner, so this is just to frighten ordinary folk. Happened in 1930s Germany.

    2. “If the world looks confusing to you, it is probably because you are voting for fake leftwing parties and watching fake news quoting fake experts.”

      – Jonathan Cook

  3. And also this:

Artist or activist? For Juliet Stevenson and her husband, Gaza leaves them with no choice

Film-maker Hugh Brody hopes to honour his mother, a Holocaust survivor, with a show of solidarity for Palestine

Read any celebrity-signed open letter advocating for social justice over the past few years and you’ll probably spot Juliet Stevenson’s name. When the veteran actor is not gracing screens or on a stage somewhere, she’s out on the streets brandishing a placard or giving speeches about human rights, gender equality and the Palestinian right to self-determination.

Critics may – and they do – disparage Stevenson as a “luvvie” engaging in typical performative liberal politics, but spend just a few minutes with the actor and her husband – the anthropologist, film-maker and writer Hugh Brody – and you quickly discover that the roots of their activism run far deeper than that.

In fact, the fight for peace and justice in Palestine is something that has defined the couple’s relationship for 32 years, particularly because Brody is Jewish and the son of a Holocaust survivor.

Both her and Brody believe “a fear of being branded as antisemitic” is a big factor in many people’s silence. “In my industry, every institution, every arts organisation who could and should be standing up is too frightened, because of the risk of losing money and sponsorship,” she says….

Check it out, it’s well worth reading.

      1. Thanks Dave I enjoyed reading Indi’s thoughts on US tariffs and kinda agree with his three main points:
        – They’re a strategic failure that has weakened U.S. influence,
        – they increase costs for American consumers and businesses, and
        – allow other countries to adapt and even benefit from the new trade dynamics.

Will Starmer (and EU) admit the above? Not on your nelly! They’re “bought politicians” in lots of different senses.

      2. Thank you qwerty.

Apart from the interesting point that even the bought and paid for comprador classes who have bought into the TINA mindset are getting tired of their toddler handlers in the West, what stands out from this piece compared to the podcast on the collapse of the rule of law posted earlier is the recognition that trying to reform a failed paradigm using that paradigms rules, structures and processes is a forlorn hope.

Trying to change a corrupt structure and its processes via the same rules and processes has zero chance of working. It is why we are where we are; still stuck in the Alfred E. Neuman pose of the first Labour Chancellor, Viscount Phillip Snowden who following the collapse of the first Labour Government as a result of a Sterling crisis was apparently aghast when the incoming Conservative Government immediately solved the run on the currency via taking Sterling off the Gold Standard with the plaintive cry of “no one told us we could do that!”

Decades of indoctrination has left Western populations, including mu ch of the alt-media and readers/commentators, with the blind spot of being unable to envisage any other way of doing anything whilst at the same time arguing that the anything of TINA is not working.

The cognitive dissonance is off the scale.

Meanwhile, as the underlying theme of Indi’s article observes, the approach of the rest of the world echoes the “go canny” asymmetry of the early British Trade Union Shop floor movement of the 19th century:

  4. And check out this Live Updates page on Al Jazeera, with a number of stories (just keep scrolling down), starting with the following:

Israel kills 110 Palestinians across Gaza, including 34 aid seekers

    https://www.aljazeera.com/news/liveblog/2025/7/12/live-un-says-israeli-forces-killed-hundreds-seeking-aid-in-gaza

The IOF have now murdered at least 798 people trying to get food in the past six weeks, and maimed and otherwise injured thousands more, many of them children.

  5. One wonders how long it will be before international officials who criticise the Genocide are arrested by those instigating, aiding and abetting that Genocide?

  6. Phone calls are at the discretion of the Duty Sgt, you have no “right” to one. Meds? Could be a good move, I eschwed my essential hypertension ones, BP 195/95 they couldn’t get rid of me fast enough. Well, founder of “Stop deaths in police custody, England” dying in custody…

  7. PACE 1.9 suggests the reverse. If you are VULNERABLE (and lacking vital meds would automatically make you vulnerable) the police are legally obliged to take suitable action (to get your meds for instance).

They should not operate as cowboys, though I would estimate the vast majority do so.

    1. It is a bit like going on holiday, some places are good, some are bad. Same with Old Bill. The medics always check, again, I saw good and bad ones.
