Video: Iranian retaliatory missiles slam into Haifa after another Israeli attack

Israeli ‘Pentagon’ already hit, now Iran strikes Israel’s fuel facilities

Iranian missiles have poured down on the Israeli cities of Haifa and Tel Aviv in retaliation for another Israeli attack on Iranian gas fields. Israel already damaged Iranian nuclear power plants yesterday, causing severe contamination of the environment.

In response, Iran launched a missile barrage that again penetrated Israeli defences. An idea of the scale of the waves of missiles arriving could be seen in Al Jazeera footage from Jordan, with the same missiles also seen in its (inset) live feed from Jerusalem:

As Al Jazeera noted, Jordan’s military again attempted to shoot down the missiles, with missiles successfully intercepted falling on Jordanian residential areas as the Amman government prioritised Israel’s defence above the safety of its own people. But the people of Jordan are on the side of the people of Gaza and see Iran as one of only two nations acting to protect them – and guests at a Jordanian wedding cheered and danced as they saw the retaliatory strikes in the air on the way to Israel:

But while Al Jazeera claimed that all the missiles were being shot down, the reality on the ground in Israel was far different as Iran targeted Israeli oil facilities in Haifa:

Oil refineries blazed in the aftermatch:

Iran also says that it shot down at least three of Israel’s F-35 strike jets during Israel’s latest attack. Tel Aviv was hit hard in last night’s missile retaliation, which repeatedly pierced Israel’s ‘Iron Dome’ defence after Israel bombed residential areas in Tehran, killing civilians – including one building with at least twenty children slaughtered, assassinated senior military officers and bombed nuclear power facilities. The military’s ‘Kirya’ HQ in Tel Aviv, known as ‘Israel’s Pentagon’, was badly damaged.

The US has tried to distance itself from Israel’s attacks, but has been exposed modifying some of Israel’s strike jets so they could hit Iran without refuelling, as well as providing refuelling flights for other occupation attack aircraft during last night’s raids:

The Starmer government in the UK has deployed RAF aircraft to the Middle East and Starmer has refused to say they will not be used to defend Israel, despite Israel’s genocide in Gaza and aggression toward all its neighbours.

  1. Iran is going to pay a very heavy price for standing up to Israel. The advantage of Iran over Israel is that its population is more prepared to face heavy loses of life to protect their country best interest. Iranians are ready to die providing that their government keeps attacking Israel and causing casualties among Israelis.
The problem Israel has is that its population isn’t prepared to accept heavy lost of life. This is why Israel is desperate trying to hide the true impact of Iranian attacks.
What I expect is that many Israeli families are going to try to abandon Israel the more the present conflict continuous.
Moreover, Israel is loosing too, its capacity to attract other Jews to emigrate and settle in Israel.
Plus if Iran managed to keep going for over a month the economic cost to Israel and the US is going to bite. Hence, as with the Houthies in Yemen, Trump could abandon Israel to its fate.

    1. “The problem Israel has is that its population isn’t prepared to accept heavy lost of life.”

      Or inconvenience.

      As Simplicus notes this morning…….

      https://simplicius76.substack.com/p/true-promise-3-iran-responds-with

“The Haifa Oil Refinery in northern occupied Palestine supplies more than 60% of Israel’s fuel needs, from gasoline and diesel to jet fuel for the Air Force. With these facilities damaged in tonight’s Iranian attack, Israel’s will face a fuel problem. This successful attack on Haifa’s refinery is a strategic blow to Israel’s economic and military backbone. The fact that Israel remains silent on the impacts on its refinery, and has not yet said anything but focused on the impact in Tamra—which I believe was caused by Israel’s own failed interceptor missile (we’ll have to see), shows that the damage was painful. And it’s only the beginning…

The New York Times, citing images shared with them, reports that Israeli research centre, The Weizmann Institute for Science, has been damaged by an Iranian ballistic missile in the most recent attacks on central Israel. The building is located in Rehovot, south of Tel Aviv, and a fire has reportedly broken out in one of the buildings which contains laboratories.”

    2. Good points Maria.
A lot of people killed & injured in Iran but we are told few in Israel.
Though Iron Drone can’t cope with super ballistic missiles.
As Iran targets military & strategic sites (like energy in retaliation to Israel’s first strike on theirs) the corresponding Israeli complexes must have no staff?
      “It’s a miracle I tell you!”
But this is all a human tragedy driven by the Israeli Occupation Forces ‘Greater Israel Plan’ as they aim to expand by stealing Middle East land including Palestine & their existing & potential future energy resources.
It just shows what some grotesque human beings will do for wealth & power.
In the end it all boils down to Western profits.
Some of us can remember when the world was led by political heavyweights who would have dialled down the military violence plus tried to find political solutions & peace.
At least we on the Left as we also press for this are now on this right side of history.

  2. Our PM appears to value Israel above the UK.

Moreover, WHO gave him the authority, without consultation in Parliament, to join a war on the side of his beloved country and likely expend British lives to protect the foreign lives he prefers? Since when did we side with illegal aggressor nations (apart from the USA in Iraq, and France/USA in Libya)?

He is taking us into a conflict that could get VERY messy, especially with both Russia and China (rightly on this occasion) siding with Iran, whilst we side with a nation where multiple world authorities have alleged* war crimes.

*alleged only in the sense that this hasn’t been through a court yet, but everyone KNOWS they are war crimes.

    1. As Pepe Escobar observed yesterday, the planet is being held hostage by a an out of control dearth cult:

      https://steelcityscribblings.uk/wp/2025/06/15/the-planet-is-hostage-to-a-death-cult/

“But which is the death cult? Is it the ethno-supremacist regime, already mid-genocide and now embarked on what Nuremberg called “the supreme crime” of waging aggressive war; one in this case capable – indeed, for said regime the entire point when no other road leads to its long term survival in ethno-supremacist form – of going global?

Or a waning hence terrifying globe-spanning empire, latest and last executor of five centuries of Western rule of the planet, its Beltway no less in the grip of a fanatical caste – wedded to a toxic doctrine of exceptionalism and incapable, psychologically no less than economically, of accepting a multi-polar world – than its Zionist client?…

….If Israel is the mad dog, the madman holding the leash is Uncle Sam.”

      Cue Brian Berletic…….

      1. Quite. The twin idiots in Number 10 and the White House giving all their backing to a state that is committing genocide and seems to be using the war crimes manual as a “How to…” journal rather than a “What to avoid doing” one. And right now we are on the wrong side of history making China and Russia all of a sudden look like the good guys. Now I don’t know if China actually intends taking over Taiwan, but if they do, then now is as good a time as any, and the hopeful recipient of the Nobel Peace prize is going to have to choose looking like the man that destroyed Yankee imperialism, or make American cowardice a thing for all to see. As always, I’m sure he’d be looking to cut a deal to “share” Iran’s oil wealth, for there’s no war without profit for the Yanks … ever. And into this bubbling cauldron we have the low-intellect Starmer ensuring that the UK is right in the sights of war crimes prosecutors if not a mere footnote in a world war that could turn nuclear. What was it the Starmerites were saying? “He’s s safe pair of hands?” Maybe reality will bite sometime soon?

    2. ………quoting chapter and verse on the 2009 Brookings Institute plan to carry out regime change in Iran:

    1. wow, superb research and analysis from simplicus. So, Israel needs US airpower to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities. “The plan all along was obviously to goad Iran into an overwhelming response that would somehow incite the US to enter the war on behalf of Israel, in order to finish off Iran.” Iran might be playing a cleverer game here than most people recognise.

This is not the time for anti-Zionists to lower the volume of rogue state criticism, its supremacist apartheid and final-solution genocide.

    2. Caitlin Johnson in fine form today…..

      https://caitlinjohnstone.com.au/2025/06/15/this-was-all-so-very-avoidable/

“Imagine living in a nation that’s so evil and reviled that people love watching you get hit…….

……Israel isn’t just exposing itself, it’s exposing its supporters. It’s showing us that we’re surrounded by psychopaths who think genocide is fine. Friends. Family members. Coworkers. They all have a big fat “I WOULD’VE SUPPORTED HITLER IN NAZI GERMANY” sign around their necks now.”

  3. 78 deaths, 300+ injuries on one side; 10 deaths and c 200 injuries on the other – but apartheid and genocide continue uninterrupted. The show must go on.

  4. Damo in fine form…..especially the clip shown at 8 minutes 15 seconds of Prof. Seyed Marandi totally destroying the Corporate media propaganda in a Sky TV interview over the weekend. No wonder the BBC cancelled his interview after seeing how he exposed the hypocrisy and double standards of the Western oligarchy and their useless idiots:
