Video: BBC does actual journalism on Gaza – but only to refute Trump mouthpiece’s attack on… the BBC

Verify programme refutes Leavitt’s lies about Israel’s attack on Palestinian refugees seeking food – to protect its own reputation

The BBC News channel has persistently regurgitated Israel’s propaganda, that refugees murdered while trying to get food were not killed this week by Israeli troops and tanks but were instead killed by ‘Hamas fighters’, as a viable view despite the fact that various experts, including the BBC’s Verify programme, had confirmed that the video on which Israel based its propaganda claim in fact showed a completely different time, location and set of people.

But last night, Trump spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt attacked the BBC, claiming that the Verify programme had retracted its analysis showing that Israel committed the massacres. This was the trigger for BBC News to fully discredit Israel’s lies about the mass murders and maimings – not to expose Israel’s genocide, but to protect its own reputation from a lying White House mouthpiece:

Even then, the BBC continued to prevaricate – referring as usual to the ‘Hamas-run’ Gaza government when its own analysis and the statements of independent, international humanitarian organisations have shown what really happened.

Israel is a genocidal terror state that has lied constantly throughout its genocide in Gaza. That has not been enough to wean the BBC, run as it has long been by Zionist-leaning management and far too close to British intelligence services, away from its habitual reinforcement of Israeli lies and propaganda and its consequent collusion in its crimes.

But a Trumpian attack on its own reputation? Well, that’s a different matter.

  1. Surprise, surprise the United States vetoed on Wednesday a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire and unrestricted humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip, preventing its adoption despite support from all other members.

14 of the 15 Council members (including the UK) voted in favour of the draft, with the US casting the sole opposing vote.

    1. Great point, well made SteveH!! – but BBC Bias and its inability to maintain anything approaching “Impartiality” is the important subject of the story.

The veery existence of BBC Verify, the BBC’s dedicated fact-checking unit, sparks debates and recognition (even with guardnog-types) that the ‘impartiality’ of the BBC is a total lie. Austerity, Corbyn, Covid, Ukraine and Gaza – it’s becoming more obvious to others every day!

  2. Are they gonna pull leavitt(out) about this at the next dissemination?

Are they shite. They might get told off, or – worse still – called fake news, by perhaps the biggest blaggers on the planet šŸ˜

Nowt but cowards, afraid of fellow bullshitters.

    1. “fellow bullshitters”, yeah Toffee. The BBC is a key part of the biased press and corporate mainstream media (MSM). Content bias, coverage bias, decision-making bias, they even engineer ‘demand-driven bias’ through programmes like QT – they’ve got at all ….. and all to serve the corrupt goals of our ultimate lords and masters…

      1. Yes, Lowkey has given chapter and verse on it and how senior management at the Beeb is tied to the Israel lobby.
