The UK ‘mainstream’ media are still silent about pro-Palestinian journalist Asa Winstanley’s legal victory against the Metropolitan Police, days after a Central Criminal Court judge ruled that the Met’s dawn raid on Winstanley’s home, in which it seized his electronic devices and documents, was completely unlawful.
It’s not hard to understand why the ‘msm’ have remained so stubbornly silent – they have been silent for more than eighteen months as the UK state, first in its blue Tory version then the Starmer red Tories, have abused laws – particularly supposed anti-terror legislation – against journalist after journalist after journalist (and many activists) to raid, harass, intimidate, threaten, seize devices and in some cases prosecute them for standing up for Palestinians’ human rights and their right, unequivocal under international law, to resist illegal occupation.
Covering Winstanley’s landmark victory would mean the ‘mainstream’ media’s ‘professional’ journalists would have to hold up their collective hands and admit that they have collectively colluded with the state against other journalists to maintain silence about Starmer’s ‘lawfare’ against those speaking out against genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity – including the imprisonment for a year or more before trial of eighteen activists – all to protect an openly genocidal Israeli regime.
And they would have to cover the Starmer regime’s consultation and collusion with Israel in these prosecutions and raids.
Since to do so would be an admission of complicity in genocide, don’t hold your breath waiting for honesty and actual journalism from the ‘msm’.
Some of the journalists, authors and activists, many of them Jewish, targeted alongside Winstanley (‘P’ means being prosecuted) in Starmer’s UN-condemned anti-democratic, anti-free speech war, are:

The msm’s reticence and almost willing acquiescence regarding Assange tells you what you need know about them.
Here’s what ‘solidarity’ means for msm ‘journalists’ and presenters.

Yup the journalistic principle of protecting sources – which is crucial for the integrity of investigative journalism – doesn’t serve the MSM’s anti-people agenda. ‘Why all the Assange bashing? It’s no good for journalism. https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/why-all-assange-bashing-its-no-good-for-journalism/
So – as Skwawky’s story verifies – Asa Winstanley was neither arrested nor charged with an offence, so how come the police could legally invade his home and seize electronic devices, including computers and phones, and applied to access Mr Winstanley’s devices, documents, and contacts?
NUJ general secretary Laura Davison said: “The seizure of our member’s property was a brazen attempt to intimidate journalists working in the public interest.
“Abusing counter-terror legislation to stifle press freedom undermines public trust in the police, journalists’ safety, and democracy.
“Just weeks ago the UK prime minister stood up in parliament and spoke about the importance of a free press and independent journalism.
“We urge the government to make good on their words and prevent the targeting of journalists, like Asa Winstanley, through raids and detentions.”
Mr Winstanley said: “This ruling is a decisive victory for press freedom in the UK.”
Big Deal! Prime Ministers like Keir Starmer or Nigel Farage will always abuse any means at their disposal (‘counter-terrorism’, in keir stamer’s case) to promote state-harassment in the interests of the Powerful.
The UK government follows Trump’s lead. We are effectively nothing more than the 51st state.
As does the EU and the most of the US vassal states across Europe.
And yet, the same media and political class which lies by omission in the example provided in this article continue to gaslight us all by constantly claiming that there is some sort of rift in the Atlantic Alliance due to the election of Trump.
“Tales themselves grounded in the delusion, embraced by critics and supporters alike, that Trump marks an unprecedented break with previous US policy. (Steel City Scribbler)
We need to prioritise fact – watch what they do; not what they say.
As laid out here…..
https://themindness.substack.com/p/the-transatlantic-split-myth-how?
When the Canadian political economist, Professor Radhika Desai, was asked by the host of a discussion last September why Europe’s leaders act manifestly against the interests of their citizens, she replied:
“The entire Left in most Western countries – by ‘Left’ I mean the Social Democratic Left, the Green Parties and perhaps most of the entire political establishment – is now led by individuals who have been through the US ideological factories … the think tanks, the annual meetings etc.
You know, the Leaders of Tomorrow type programs for which these people go to the USA on junkets, and become part of a network of leaders with a similar understanding of what is to be done, both domestically and internationally. People like Starmer, Macron, Von der Leyen and Baerbock … they belong to these circles.
So in answer to the question – why are European governments acting so manifestly contrary to the interest of their economies, their people etc? – the only reason I can find is that at the present moment, the United States is in this sweet spot where the people it has groomed have taken power in major European capitals.
