It’s not Starmer’s fault he’s a ‘Zionist without qualification’ with Palestinian blood staining his hands. No, no – it’s Jezza’s

Since Israel began its horrific genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity against the women and children of Gaza, left-wingers have long asked – only half-satirically, in a parody of the common knee-jerk reaction that everything is somehow Corbyn’s fault – how long it would be until the regime of Keir Starmer and the UK ‘mainstream’ media decided it’s somehow really because of Corbyn that Starmer has been and remains an enthusiastic collaborator in Israel’s crimes.
Well, as of today it’s not even half-satire, or parody: the Independent’s political editor David Maddox has penned an article – apparently meant to be taken seriously – titled “The real reason Labour has waited until now to take action on Israel”:

And, you’ve guessed it, in that article Maddox claims the ‘real reason’ Starmer has given his full support to Israel’s genocide and other crimes since October 2023 is… Jeremy Corbyn. Maddox writes that it was ‘shame’ over Labour’s (fictitious) ‘antisemitism’ under Corbyn that has “held back” Starmer from opposing Israel blowing up hospitals, schools, universities, homes, women, children, doctors, paramedics, aid workers (some of them British) and more journalists than in all the conflicts of the last hundred years combined:
In reality, Labour under Sir Keir Starmer has been held back by a sense of shame. A visible reminder of this came when former leader Jeremy Corbyn got to his feet to challenge Lammy. Under Corbyn’s leadership, Labour became so immersed in antisemitism and so marginalised the Jewish community that the party has had to continue working hard to restore its reputation.
For this reason, Sir Keir and Mr Lammy have worked hard to support Israel’s right to defend itself in the wake of the horrific 7 October 2023 attacks by Hamas. As attacks on Gaza by Israel have intensified, Labour has softly attempted to pressure Netanyahu’s government into restraint but never been willing to go the extra mile.
Presumably that’s also why Starmer feels compelled to wage war, in consultation with Israel, on UK journalists and activists who dare to expose and speak against Israel’s genocide.
Of course, many would consider that it’s deeply antisemitic to feel or argue that collaborating in genocide will please “the Jewish community”, as if all Jews support Israel, let alone the intentional evil it is perpetrating in their name. Many Jews oppose Israel’s racist oppression of the Palestinian people, its wanton slaughter of Gaza’s innocents, its use of the same tactics in the occupied West Bank and its bombing and invasion of its other neighbours Lebanon and Syria – even some of those Jews who otherwise believe in the concept of an Israel built on Palestinians’ land.
One of the main reasons that an objective analysis would conclude for the right’s whole ‘Labour antisemitism’ scam in the first place was that Corbyn would have recognised Palestinian statehood immediately upon becoming Prime Minister, having always stood squarely with the Palestinian people against occupation and for their self-determination.
Corbyn was then kicked out of the parliamentary party for stating, correctly, that ‘Labour antisemitism’ was a political weapon rather than an objective reality and has ‘lived rent-free’ in the heads of his opponents all through his leadership of Labour and ever since, because his ideas and principles are such a threat to the rich, the powerful and the oppressor – so it’s unsurprising that the establishment would look to blame him for everything that ever happens anywhere.
And that’s what drove the satire-that-never-was.
As for Mr Maddox, here he is a couple of years ago – when he was political editor of the hard-right Express – chatting on hard-right station GB News to far-right politician Nigel Farage and praising Starmer for returning Labour to ‘patriotism’ and droning on about the then-Tory government not doing enough to ‘stop the boats’ or deport ‘illegal migrants’, so it seems fair, given his CV and his praise for Starmer, to ask whether Mr Maddox is entirely impartial about the hard-right ‘Labour’ ‘leader’ and his nemesis Jeremy Corbyn:

We’re through the looking glass …. and looking for sense?
Jesus wept.
And you thought the resident gobshite was weird…Unless…Nah, it cant be – can it? 🤨🤔😲
Maddox obviously underestimate Mr Corbyns influence as he also seems to have forced nearly all western governments along with Australia,Canada,NZ,Japan etc to also support the genocide
Even now, the Met police are more interested in a flag-waving pop band and a rodent tweet by an ex-footballer, than senior politicians saying that it is perfectly acceptable for Israel to cut off food, water & electricity to an entire ethnic group, and supporting the war criminals with hundreds of recce flights at a cost of *** knows how much.
And Israel has NO “right to defend itself” against people resisting illegal occupation & control and asserting their right to self determination, let alone the recent slaughter.
What has happened for Trump to shun Israel and these European states to grow balls all at the same time???
Pop band?
Up Kneecap!
The only reason Starmer has come out at all to criticise Israel’s genocide is because his “popularity” (which he never had) has dropped so low that a snap election now would see Labour and Conservative out leaving us with a hung parliament and Nigel Farage and his Reform bunch holding as many seats as the other two put together. THAT’S how egotistical, narcissistic and self orientated Starmer is.
Yeah nothing to do with the Zionists wanting to steal Gaza’s land, gas & oil + the West wanting a cut of the profits?
And Europe including the UK jumping to the US tune & now on arms build ups.
What a sad state of affairs when Western Lightweight Leaders turn in desperation to profits from the Merchants of Death as millions of their citizens suffer.
Need CORBYN types Govts around the world.
That David Maddox bloke does not seem to be a full shilling. Where do they find these weird characters? This really takes the biscuit.
