Ansar Allah/Oman say it has made no agreement about Israeli/Israel-bound shipping and will continue anti-genocide blockade
The US and Yemen’s Ansar Allah de facto government have agreed a truce after the US agreed to stop its daily bombing attacks on Yemen if Yemen would stop attacking US ships – a clear US cave-in to Yemen’s months-long demand. The US has lost warplanes and, according to a slip by Trump during a deranged rant last month, whole ships to Ansar Allah’s coordinated missile and drone attacks, forcing US carriers and other naval ships to withdraw 1,000+ kilometres from Yemen’s coastline.
True to type, Trump ignored reality and immediately claimed that the Yemenis had ‘capitulated’ and no longer wanted to fight:
However, Trump’s lie was immediately shot down by a single, clarifying X post from the Oman government:
Other Yemeni sources also confirmed that there is no agreement by the Yemenis to stop attacking Israeli and Israel-bound shipping, which Ansar Allah has committed to do until Israel ceases its genocide in Gaza and reconfirmed after Israel recommenced its illegal bombing and starvation blockade on the Palestinians – international law requires every government to take every step it can to prevent genocide:
And the Yemenis, who only attacked US military ships despite the US repeatedly bombing and killing civilians, today confirmed their intention to strike back directly at Israel after Israeli aircraft dropped at least twenty bombs on Sana’a International Airport, deliberately targeting passenger planes:
This is not the first time that Trump or US bots have tried to claim that the Yemenis had surrendered. Bots and sockpuppets spread false claims immediately after Trump’s election last November that the mere fact of the election win had cowed Ansar Allah into announcing a ceasefire.

China’s Ministry of Commerce in a press statement followed by Q&A has said it will engage in talks with the US in Switzerland via a low level official at the USA’s initiative.
He Lifeng, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council was on his way to a meeting in France and can fit the American’s in.
The Chinese position set out in the Press Release from the question and answer session leaves little doubt as to who is in the driving seat and who has the leverage/cards:
– “China’s position is consistent, and China’s determination to safeguard its own development interests will not change, and its position and goal of safeguarding international fairness and justice and the international economic and trade order will not change, regardless of whether it is a fight or a negotiation.”
– “Any dialogue and negotiation must be carried out on the premise of mutual respect, consultation on an equal footing and mutual benefit. 2
– “If the US wants to resolve the issue through negotiations, it must face up to the serious negative impact of unilateral tariff measures on itself and the world, face up to international economic and trade rules, fairness and justice, and the voices of reason from all walks of life, show sincerity in talks, correct its wrong practices, work with China in the same direction, and resolve both sides’ concerns through consultation on an equal footing. If the US says one thing and does another or even attempts to continue to engage in coercion and blackmail under the guise of talks, China will never agree, let alone seek any agreement at the expense of its principled position and international fairness and justice.”
Interesting times.
Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a member of the Supreme Political Council of Ansarallah, described Trump’s announcement as “a victory that ends American support for the temporary entity (Israel – PC).”
He added that this announcement is “a failure for Netanyahu, and he must resign.”

The plan to totally annihilate the Palestinian population will likely escalate the actions of Ansarallah against Israel.
That being the case, and in a context in which one of the parties to this agreement has a long history stretching back over a century of being non-agreement capable, – not to mention the flip flopping of the current nominal POTU – the assumption that the USA has thrown Zionist Israel under a bus may be a little premature.
The agreement that Trump has made is to stop bombing Yemen in return for Ansarallah to stop bombing American merchant and military shipping (though if the Carrier groups have been withdrawn they cease to be a target anyway). It says nothing about any scenario which potentially poses an existential threat to a Zionist Israel.
The point being that the fat lady has not yet sung. There remains plenty of potential wriggle room for a State with a poor reputation for keeping agreements, which is led by someone with a lower attention span than a goldfish.
