Ship was attacked hours before campaigner was due to join it – now Maltese warship will not allow support vessel to reach it in international waters or allow it to reach port
Environmental and anti-genocide campaigner Greta Thunberg has condemned Israel’s drone-bombing of the Gaza-bound ‘Freedom Flotilla’ aid ship Conscience that left the vessel burning and holed at the water line – while the Maltese navy, which refused to rescue the crew or allow them to reach Malta for repairs, blocks the ship’s support team from reaching it to help their thirty humanitarian colleagues on board:
The Maltese government has been exposed allowing an Israeli military aircraft to spend five hours in its airspace coordinating the drone attack on the Conscience and appears to be trying to ensure that the ship’s mission ends just outside its waters. The timing of the attack just before Thunberg joined the ship is doubtless no coincidence – her international profile means that attacking it with her on board would have been a news story that even the complicit western ‘mainstream’ news media would have found impossible to ignore.
The Starmer regime in the UK has still not even mentioned Israel’s completely illegal attack on a peaceful vessel in international waters, much less condemn it – even as it bombs Yemen for Yemen’s efforts to fulfil its obligations under international law to do all in its power to prevent Israel’s genocide in Gaza by blocking Israeli and Israeli-bound commercial shipping.
Israel’s starvation blockade on Gaza, which Yemen has said it will end its shipping block as soon as Israel lifts, is a naked crime against humanity under international law that has deliberately pushed nearly two million civilians in Gaza into profound famine and is killing children at a constantly accelerating rate, like little fourteen-month-old Alma Awad, who was starved to death on Saturday:

How/Why does Netanyahu and Israel, the clear-as-day war criminals, control the UK, USA, Germany, Cyprus, Malta? I feel utterly ashamed of my government (regardless of party in charge), and ashamed of the USA (Democrat/Republican), shocked by Germany and saddened by Cyprus and Malta that their proud history of freedom has now been lost to a bunch of war criminals, for no gain at all. What is wrong with these people?
