Government repression of pro-Palestine speech continues with trumped-up arrest of man at airport for wearing jumper with Palestine map as accused Israeli war criminal was flying out
In a clear case of politicised and repressive policing – and likely racial profiling – a Palestinian activist was detained at Heathrow airport under the Firearms Act by heavily armed police and interrogated, simply for wearing a pullover with a Palestine keffiyeh map when he went to report on the covert departure of accused Israeli war-criminal Gideon Sa’ar from London, where he conducted clandestine meetings with UK government officials despite applications for his arrest:
Ever since Keir Starmer got into Downing Street, his regime has waged a continual war, to protect Israel from public awareness of its crimes, by weaponising and misusing to harass, raid, arrest, in some cases brutally beat and criminalise journalists and activists who speak out against apartheid Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, which has killed more than 200,000 civilians so far and is starving and bombing the almost two million who still survive.
As one observer put it today:
If you walk through a UK airport after criticising genocide, you’ll be arrested. If you arrive in a UK airport after committing genocide, you’ll be welcomed with open arms. These are the days we’re living in.
