Parliamentary petition aims to “repeal 2000 and 2006 Terrorism Acts and review other legislation” to prevent police-state abuse and enable real safeguards
Chris Williamson, the left-wing former Derby North MP, is among the sponsors of a new petition calling on the government to repeal supposed – and widely considered unfit – anti-terror legislation that the Starmer regime has been weaponising and misusing to protect Israel by harassing, raiding, arresting and criminalising journalists and activists who speak out against Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, which has killed more than 200,000 civilians so far and is starving and bombing the almost two million who still survive.
Starmer’s ‘lawfare’ war on anti-genocide free speech has been condemned by the United Nations. Dozens of journalists and activists, many of them Jewish, have been raided, seized at airports, detained, forced to hand over electronic devices and in some cases charged under the Terrorism Act with potential penalties of 14 years.
If the petition receives 100,000 or more signatures, the government is meant to debate it in Parliament. Those who wish to sign it can do so here.

Used to be a section 44 search power which was abused by police and repealed. Israeli army only finds ‘professional failures’ in Gaza aid worker killings
The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) denounced the Israeli report as ‘full of lies’.
The Israeli military has released details of an investigation into its own killing of 15 Palestinian paramedics and aid workers in Gaza last month, saying its code of ethics was not violated and only one soldier is dismissed, in an attack that sparked outrage in the international community.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) and the Israeli rights organisation Breaking the Silence rejected the findings of the Israeli probe on Sunday.

Needless to say, they are hardly going to concede that they executed the paramedics and aid workers. And needless to say, they haven’t provided the names of the six (or more!) Hamas fighters that they have claimed were among the medics and aid workers. I wonder why not! Or the weapons they were carrying, as Hamas fighters would no way ever go unarmed. But they – Israel/the IDF – haven’t. I wonder why not!
And does it seem remotely plausible that the IDF just happened to be at that particular location by chance?!!

Israel assassinated a photojournalist in Gaza in an airstrike targeting her family’s home on Wednesday, the day after it was announced that a documentary she appears in would premier in Cannes next month.
Her name was Fatima Hassouna. Nine members of her family were also reportedly killed in the bombing. She was going to get married in a few days.
The documentary is titled Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk, and it’s about Israel’s crimes in Gaza.
