Fred Thomas meekly deletes post after warning from Corbyn and widespread mockery
Plymouth Moor View’s right-wing Labour MP Fred Thomas has meekly deleted a mocked-up image in which he smeared Jeremy Corbyn as a lackey of Russian president Vladimir Putin, along with far-right Reform MP Nigel Farage – apparently after a warning – probably in the form of a legal ‘letter before action – from Corbyn about the likely consequences of leaving it up.
Thomas seemingly forgot the humiliation suffered by then-Tory MP Ben Bradley after Bradley posted similar smears linking Corbyn with Soviet-era Czechoslovakia, in which Bradley was forced to issue a grovelling apology for his idiocy and, at the same time, ask readers to share it to ensure maximum coverage and embarrassment:
Three years later, Corbyn forced a similarly humiliating ‘please retweet’ victory over libellous Tory councillor Paul Nickersen after Nickersen posted a doctored image supposedly showing Corbyn laying a wreath for a suicide bomber:
Thomas’s post had already backfired spectacularly, leading to hundreds of posts, including from Corbyn’s Peace and Justice Project, mocking him and pointing how, unlike his boss, Corbyn has a long record of criticism of Putin’s actions – and Starmer’s cosiness with war criminals and his dire record at the Crown Prosecution Service:
It is unclear so far whether, like Corbyn’s earlier useless libellers, Thomas has been required to make a payment to charity to compensate for his incompetent unpleasantness or has deleted early in the hope of avoiding their fate.
