Video: as journalist interviews rescue worker wounded in Israeli attack, Israeli bomb goes off

Lebanese Mohammed Amasha breaks down in tears as he recalls attack that killed his colleagues

Mohammed Amasha, a Lebanese rescue worker wounded by an Israeli attack that killed four of his colleagues as they tried desperately to put out a fire, has spoken heartbreakingly of his fallen friends and of the murderousness of Israel’s assaults on Lebanon, which have continued even during a supposed ceasefire.

And as the interview proceeds, an Israel bomb falls nearby, forcing interviewer Hind Hassan to pause:

Israel, copying its criminal tactics in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, has repeatedly targeted Lebanese paramedics, medics, rescue workers, journalists, hospitals and residential blocks and – again as in Gaza and the West Bank – has repeatedly killed children, including in its terrorist ‘exploding pager’ attack.

  1. Off-topic.

Bbc’s zeffman on smarmerite plans for sweeping welfare cuts.

“There are many factions, or caucuses if you will, within the (labour) party; but what unites them all is a commitment to a generous welfare state”.

    Just fuck off, zeffman.

  2. The United States has reportedly held “direct” and “secret” talks with the Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas for the first time, the US-based news website Axios reported on Wednesday.
According to two sources cited by Axios, the talks aimed at releasing American captives still held in Gaza and exploring “the possibility of a broader deal to end the war”.
Axios reported that the “unprecedented” talks were held by the US presidential envoy Adam Boehler in Doha.
The sources, who spoke to Axios on the condition of anonymity, said that “while the Trump administration consulted with Israel about the possibility of engaging with Hamas, Israel learned about aspects of the talks through other channels”.
“The White House and the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office did not offer comment prior to publication,” Axios noted.
