Video: Trump tells humiliated Starmer ‘That’s enough’ in press conference, UK media mask it

UK broadcasters claim orange one was talking to reporter who asked question. It’s clear he wasn’t

Keir Starmer was humiliated by US far-right president Donald Trump during a press conference last night when Trump interrupted him mid-flow as Starmer grovelled and tried to ingratiate himself by claiming there’s no real divide between the US and the UK on issues such as tariffs on Canada or even its annexation. Trump cut Starmer off, telling him ‘That’s enough’:

Channel 4 and other UK media, however, covered for Starmer – claiming Trump had shut down the reporter who asked the question rather than the UK PM, despite the obvious:

Starmer’s brown-nosing – and his feeble silence when treated with contempt – was a stark contrast with even the drab centrist French president Emmanuel Macron earlier this month, who frankly contradicted Trump to his face when the orange one tried to claim the EU is lending money to Ukraine for profit. Whatever you think of the EU’s continued appetite for a war in which Ukraine is getting thrashed and has lost hundreds of thousands of troops, Macron showed more spine than a thousand Starmers.

Trump is an appalling neo-fascist, but who of us hasn’t wanted to shut Starmer up when he’s speaking his dire nonsense? But his spineless acquiescence shows how unfit he is to run the UK in the face of the threat from tyrants, oligarchs and blustering buffoons – only ever showing ‘strength’ when it comes to punching down on the vulnerable and on those who are trying to resist genocide and the destruction of our environment, or pandering to racists.
