Israel expands shoot-to-kill order against civilians in West Bank

Supposed parameters for authorised shooting now same as in Gaza genocide – Starmer regime still silent

The Israeli occupation military has relaxed its parameters allowing soldiers to shoot and kill unarmed Palestinian civilians during its invasions in the occupied West Bank.

The Israeli Haaretz site said that the new orders make it easier for soldiers “to pull the trigger,” even if the victim is not suspected of any insurgent activity – and have already led to a rise in Palestinian civilian casualties.

The occupation force has murdered hundreds of people in the occupied West Bank since the beginning of the so-called ‘ceasefire’ in Gaza – Israel is still killing civilians daily in Gaza – most of them children along with medical and rescue personnel, while forcibly displacing more than 40,000 refugees from the West Bank’s Jenin camp.

The breaches of the Gaza ceasefire have led to a pause in the release of Israeli prisoners of war – far-right US president Donald Trump, who is bankrolled by the US Israel lobby, has called on Israel to abandon the ceasefire it breaks daily entirely if all captives are not released by Saturday, a deadline that was never in the ceasefire agreement. Israel, meanwhile, holds and tortures around ten thousand illegally-detained hostages, mostly without charge, and is detaining more civilians as quickly as it is releasing others.

The UK government remains silent on Israel’s extermination policies towards Palestinian civilians and is waging a ‘lawfare’ war of intimidation, raids, harassment and criminalisation against UK journalists and activists who speak out in Israel’s crimes and has been slammed by the UN’s human rights office for its abuse of anti-terror laws against them.
