Starmer regime hosts Israeli generals in ‘secret’ talks – including one accused at ICC

Keir Starmer’s government has hosted ‘secret’ talks on Wednesday with high-ranking Israeli military officers deeply involved in Israel’s genocide in Gaza, an investigation by Declassified UK has revealed.

The delegation was led by Major General Oded Basyuk and included Brigadier General Elad Goren and intelligence officer Lt Colonel Yuval Litvin – and it met with the ministry of Defence (MoD) and later with unknown figures at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) in London. Declassified caught Basyuk on camera as he entered the RUSI:

As head of the Israeli military’s Operations Directorate, Basyuk has played a leading role in the Gaza genocide and was in Gaza for Israel’s last major assault before the supposed ceasefire now in place. He also oversaw the offensive in southern Lebanon that saw large numbers of civilians killed and whole villages explosively demolished. He was challenged over his potential role in war crimes, before he fled into the RUSI building where security blocked the journalists from pursuing him further.

Only four days ago, Brig Gen Goren became one of two subjects of a lawsuit filed with the International Criminal Court (ICC) over his alleged involvement in the use of starvation as a weapon against the civilians of Gaza, where last October the United Nations’ top humanitarian official said hundreds of thousands of people were imminently at risk of dying of hunger. Despite this, he was allowed into the UK as part of the ‘secret’ visit.

The MoD claimed the visit was “part of the concerted UK effort to reduce the risk of escalation in the Middle East and to achieve a peaceful resolution”. However, on Sunday – within hours of the supposed ‘ceasefire’ in Gaza, Keir Starmer’s government sent further military ‘spy flights’ from Cyprus over Gaza, continuing the UK’s active support for Israel’s genocidal war on the Palestinian people. Israel’s then-chief of staff Herzi Halevi was granted immunity from arrest to make a similar visit to the UK last November to discuss “the ongoing conflicts in Lebanon and Gaza” with senior UK MoD and Foreign Office officials.

While arranging special immunity and secret visits for genocide-linked Israeli figures, Starmer’s government is actively waging war on journalism, protest and freedom of speech about Israel’s genocide and other crimes in Gaza, despite the ICC issuing arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former defence minister Yoav Gallant – which the Starmer regime has still not explicitly said it would enact if either of the pair entered British territory. The impunity given to Israeli generals strongly suggests it would not.

  1. I wouldn’t put it past Starmer, after his public disorder punt backfired on Saturday, to be thinking of bringing the IDF over to sort out the British Left!

  2. When persecution becomes ‘normalised’ in the minds of goverments- Gaza is persecution- it affords insight into the values of that government. Palestinians, refugees, unemployed, long-term sick, and on and on. Divide, persecute ad rule.

If only there were more journalists to challenge these ‘values.’There’s much digging still to be done on the court ruling on the ‘free press.’

  3. Skwawkie: “The MoD claimed the visit was “part of the concerted UK effort to reduce the risk of escalation in the Middle East and to achieve a PEACEFUL RESOLUTION”.

Indeed, Starmer’s probably got BlackRock and real-estate developers lined-up already: “The Gaza Beach Complex– where Opulence out-strips Luxury”.

  4. One wonders when we will see those who consistently lecture us all on this site that Genocide enablers like Starmer are the only viable option will be submitting a post in support of this event in the way they do with every other act of this Mafia excuse for a Government?

  5. Just me, or does he look a bit like john ‘champion of antisemitism’ mann

  6. Given that, according to Reeves, we are skint, one wonder how many pensioners with over £16K left over from their lump sum company pension are going to be robbed by these Road Agents for the oligarchy and driven into even more extreme poverty to shovel money into the mass slaughter by proxy of people they clearly consider to be untermenschen in Gaza, The West Bank, Lebanon, and Syria.

Will it beat the one hundred year agreement to satisfy the continuation of the almost two hundred years of the chinless wonders of the British Establishment’s rabid Russiaphobia that Starmer has just signed with 404?

The way things are right now in Britain, it’s touch and go which country/state ceases to exist as a viable functioning entity between both of these entities.
