Video: Maduro arms Venezuelan citizens against expected coup

Popular mobilisation against US-backed ‘opposition’ as western media spin ‘threat’ of elected candidate’s swearing-in for third term

Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro has armed civilians in readiness for an anticipated coup as he prepares to swear in for his third term today.

Western governments and media have repeatedly attempted to undermine Venezuelan democracy and continue to do so, claiming there are ‘serious doubts’ about Maduro’s defeat of US-backed right-winger Edmundo González, despite the country having a long record of internationally-monitored and authenticated electoral processes – considered by neutral observers to be world-class and ‘unriggable’ and far superior to those in the US and UK – and Maduro’s outright majority in the presidential vote.

These tactics by the US and its allies go back years, with the US and UK governments even going as far as to recognise as president in 2018 the virtually unknown Juan Guaidó, despite the leader of Venezuela’s opposition accepting Maduro’s victory as legitimate.

Western media have also participated fully in the misrepresentation of Venezuelan elections as unsound and far-right ‘opposition’ groups as ‘democratic’, despite abundant evidence of murders, abuse and intimidation by these groups – and even filming pro- and anti-government protests so as to mask their real relative scales.

In response to the anticipated coup Maduro has re-activated citizen militias, with the people filmed arming, preparing and declaring their opposition to US interference in Venezuela:

Three Ukrainians were reportedly arrested in Venezuela on Wednesday on suspicion of preparing for acts of terrorism in support of the coup attempt.

Right-wing Forbes magazine called Venezuela’s election system ‘a model for the world’.
Pointing out the obvious.

Venezuela and its left-wing popular governments have been sanctioned by the US and repeatedly targeted for regime change because of its natural resources and its proximity to the US border. The US is imposing further sanctions this week as it tries to destroy Venezuela’s economy and destabilise its politics.

  1. LONDON (Reuters) – The Venezuelan Central Bank (BCV) board controlled by the government of President Nicolas Maduro on Friday lost its latest appeal over $1.95 billion of the country’s gold reserves held in the Bank of England’s underground vaults. UK/US thieves, Russia also has its Foreign reserves [$300 billion dollars held in the EU and US] stolen, some say it will be given to Ukraine. Unbelievable.

  2. Yes the USA wants Venezuela’s oil & gold plus the US wants a puppet (Right Wing opponent will have been trained by CIA in New York) on OPEC to make sure oil is $80+ a barrel so it’s fracking industry is profitable.
And again West jumps to US tune & UK Labour falls into line at the feet of capital with sanctions.
See how bourgeois careerist politicians sell their souls for PROFITS.

  3. The people’s vote in who they wanted now the criminals USA UK wants him locked up while they put in a puppet who dance to their designs democracy is dead
