Breaking: Israeli anti-genocide activist Yael Kahn arrested at demo outside Israel residence

Starmer regime’s lawfare against peace activists and journalists continues with arrest of yet another Jewish campaigner

A photo of Ms Kahn’s arrest tonight.

Lifelong Israeli anti-apartheid and anti-genocide campaigner Yael Kahn, whose family died in the Holocaust, has been arrested this evening by the Metropolitan Police at a demonstration arranged by the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network (IJAN) outside the London residence of far-right Israeli ambassador Tzipi Hotovely. The police cited the Public Order Act as their justification for the arrest.

An announcement for the protest this evening.

It is not the first time that the fearless Ms Kahn has been targeted. In November 2023 she was arrested after refusing to remove a sign she was wearing describing ‘Nazi Israel’ and its genocide of Palestinians as a ‘final solution’ similar to the slaughter of Jews by the Nazi German regime:

Ms Kahn was also ‘physically attacked’ by police – who did nothing to intervene in intimidation by pro-Israel agitators – last November at the same weekly protest at Hotovely’s residence.

That attack came on the same night as Jewish Israeli professor Haim Bresheeth was arrested at the same protest outside the London residence of far-right Israeli ambassador Tzipi Hotovely for a speech against Israel’s genocide of Palestinians and forms part of the Starmer government’s escalating campaign of abusing anti-terror legislation to raid and arrest journalists and activists – many of them, like many anti-genocide protesters, Jewish – who expose Israel’s war crimes.

Since October 2023 Israel has killed more than 200,000 Palestinians, overwhelmingly civilians and mostly women and children. It also used terrorist tactics to kill and maim thousands in Lebanon, including children and continues to bomb civilians and target journalists in both Gaza and Lebanon and to use starvation tactics against Gaza’s two million surviving people.

The Starmer government, which has refused to condemn Israel’s actions, has said it considers the use of the word ‘genocide’ unhelpful and Starmer himself said last week that he has never called Israel’s campaign a genocide. The International Court of Justice is investigating Israel for genocide, the International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Israeli PM Netanyahu and former defence minister Yoav Gallant, and UN experts have confirmed that Israel is committing exactly that, along with a string of other war crimes.

Skwawkbox will shortly have video footage of the arrest for imminent publication.

  1. Why do all the Met boys and girls wear that “We’re just following orders!” look on their faces?

  2. Jewish people are NOT HOMOGENOUS and of course like all groups they are wonderfully diverse.
But Zionists seem to believe that there is ONLY ONE PERSPECTIVE – Zionism, and if you disagree with that perspective then you are AS?
But Jews are Left Wing, Right Wing, Liberal, Centrist, Social Democratic, Non-Political, Anti-Zionist & Zionist & probably more.
So George Orwell would have had a field day if he was writing today.
    Recommend:
Bernard Regan, The Balfour Declaration-is brilliant & shows how the Western & British elite, without consulting the indigenous Palestinians, started the great land theft and why.
G.D.Smith, A 3,000 Year History of Palestine, is meticulous.
And if you want to know about Labour, the Left and Zionism see Paul Keleman, The British Left & Zionism: A History of Divorce.
Let’s continue to fight for Justice & Peace For Palestine & For a Free Palestine from the rivers to the sea in 2025.

  3. It is so hypocritical for those who administer what they are pleased to call ‘law and order’ on our behalf (?) to arrest Jewish anti-Zionist activists by the dozen whilst parrotting opposition to anti-semitism. Don’t they realise that this is the worst kind of victimisation of those people imaginable, particularly those who, like this brave woman, lost family in the Holocaust?

They are literally telling her, and others in similar circumstances, that they are dishonouring their communities, implying that they are ‘the wrong kind of Jew’ and, despite their family history and experiences, have no right to stand with the beleaguered people of Gaza, or draw parallels between those and Israhell’s genocide of the Palestinian people. They are also stating, in the worst way possible, that in this ‘democratic’ society, any demonstration of this allegiance will be met by arrest and detention in the name of racial justice by those with state power.

  4. Imagine having a son or daughter who works for the Metropolitan Police.
    The Shame of it!
