Airstrikes kill 9, wound others in S Lebanon as Israel violates ceasefire

Israel in serial breach of its own ceasefire agreement

Israeli airstrikes targeting homes in the south Lebanon towns of Haris and Tallousa have killed nine Lebanese civilians and injured at least three others, according to the Lebanese health ministry and footage shown on local news. Two more civilians were killed on Monday in a separate Israeli attack.

The strike is another clear violation of the ceasefire agreement Israeli PM Netanyahu announced so that Israeli military could recharge and re-arm, and focus its attacks on Iran. Israel has repeatedly attacked targets inside supposed safe areas since the supposed cessation of hostilities – more than fifty times in just a few days, according to Lebanese parliamentarian Nabih Berri.

  1. The strike is another clear violation of the ceasefire agreement Israeli PM Netanyahu announced so that Israeli military could recharge and re-arm,

Said as much last week. Not that it was difficult to predict.

And with this mystery weapon they’ve apparently been using in gaza, my guess is the ibf was running low on ammo, so turned to it in order to create confusion and hesitancy for any would-be attacking entity willing to take the gamble; battle-testing it on an already destroyed area and a more-or-less subjugated population due to that itself being of limited stock, with the ability of the rest if the planet to to only hear by rumour, in an attempt to buy themselves time for their ‘re-up’ of ‘conventional’ arms from the complicit nations – which it appears they may well have, now.

    1. If these are thermobaric weapons, which have been used in several conflicts already, including by the UK in Afghanistan, this is from Wikipedia. Nasty stuff:

A thermobaric weapon, also called an aerosol bomb, or a vacuum bomb, is a type of explosive munition that works by dispersing an aerosol cloud of gas, liquid or powdered explosive. The fuel is usually a single compound, rather than a mixture of multiple substances. Many types of thermobaric weapons can be fitted to hand-held launchers, and can also be launched from airplanes…

Most conventional explosives consist of a fuel–oxidiser premix, but thermobaric weapons consist only of fuel and as a result are significantly more energetic than conventional explosives of equal weight. Their reliance on atmospheric oxygen makes them unsuitable for use under water, at high altitude, and in adverse weather. They are, however, considerably more effective when used in enclosed spaces such as tunnels, buildings, and non-hermetically sealed field fortifications (foxholes, covered slit trenches, bunkers)…

Conventional countermeasures such as barriers (sandbags) and personnel armour are not effective against thermobaric weapons. A Human Rights Watch report of 1 February 2000 quotes a study made by the US Defense Intelligence Agency:

The [blast] kill mechanism against living targets is unique — and unpleasant….What kills is the pressure wave, and more importantly, the subsequent rarefaction [vacuum], which ruptures the lungs….If the fuel deflagrates but does not detonate, victims will be severely burned and will probably also inhale the burning fuel. Since the most common FAE fuels, ethylene oxide and propylene oxide, are highly toxic, undetonated FAE should prove as lethal to personnel caught within the cloud as with most chemical agents.

According to a US Central Intelligence Agency study,

the effect of an FAE explosion within confined spaces is immense. Those near the ignition point are obliterated. Those at the fringe are likely to suffer many internal, invisible injuries, including burst eardrums and crushed inner ear organs, severe concussions, ruptured lungs and internal organs, and possibly blindness.

Another Defense Intelligence Agency document speculates that, because the “shock and pressure waves cause minimal damage to brain tissue…it is possible that victims of FAEs are not rendered unconscious by the blast, but instead suffer for several seconds or minutes while they suffocate”…

International law does not prohibit the use of thermobaric munitions, fuel-air explosive devices, or vacuum bombs against military targets. As of March 2024, all past attempts to regulate or restrict thermobaric weapons have failed.

  2. “Israel in serial breach of its own ceasefire agreement”

That is now how “The Rules Based International Order” works.

Under this convenient exceptionalist doctrine such ceasefire “agreement” only work one way and for one party.

    Rule 6 – quoted here….

    https://strategic-culture.su/news/2024/11/28/for-future-memory-of-western-decadence/

    …applies:

“6. War is the excellent means of defending Western interests; therefore, the possibility of it being used against violators of this International Rules-Based Order will always be open. The West has every right – and obligation – to resort to War whenever Western institutions, with or without UN approval, conclude or even suspect that their interests are being harmed, at risk or threatened. Economic and political sanctions and the use of popular revolutions, also known as colour revolutions, do not replace War itself, they can be useful in achieving the objective of making it easier, more effective and less expensive in terms of Western human lives.”

…..alongside the provisions of the Special Article as applied to the State of Israel.

    Specifically;

“The State of Israel, although located in geographically eastern territories, is an integral and inalienable part of the Collective West and Our Civilization; It is up to him, notably, to defend Western interests in the region by all the means and methods at his disposal, receiving for this purpose from Western countries, communities, unions, regions and alliances, at each moment, the financial, economic, political, and propaganda and, above all, military and weapons to achieve this essential task and the Rules-Based International Order is strictly applied.”

Any expression of a contrary view or narrative is covered under Rule 12:

“12. The only version of reality that exists in the world at any given moment is the one conveyed by the military, financial, economic, political and multiplatform media powers formed by the main global media groups. The unquestionable definition of global reality at each moment may have nuances according to cultural and political expressions that are expressed in the West – but without ever calling into question the only accepted truth. It is the obligation of Western economic-financial, military, political and communication institutions to silence and punish expressions of interests and opinions alien to and contrary to Our Civilization, invariably tuned to and sponsored by barbarism, making it urgent to accelerate this process on the Internet.”

      1. If you have a counterargument based on and containing real life substantive evidence, Billy, let’s hear it rather than you standing in the corner muttering and jerking yourself off.

The evidence of how this system of double standards works in real life – as described – is all around us (quite a lot featured on this site).

        The latest example being here:

        https://skwawkbox.org/2024/12/03/uk-counter-terror-unit-demands-game-platform-remove-game-showing-palestinian-perspective/

But then, you, being a living, breathing example of someone who applies those double standards and associated hypocrisy every time you open your ignorant gob on this site, will be more than familiar with the process and approach you are too stupid and arrogant to admit to.

Hence, school playground level evidence free invective is all you’ve got.

    1. SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol declared an “emergency martial law,” Tuesday accusing the country’s opposition of controlling the parliament, sympathizing with North Korea and paralyzing the government with anti-state activities.

Yoon made the announcement during a televised briefing, vowing to “eradicate pro-North Korean forces and protect the constitutional democratic order.” It wasn’t immediately clear how the steps would affect the country’s governance and democracy.

Yoon — whose approval rating has dipped in recent months — has struggled to push his agenda against an opposition-controlled parliament since taking office in 2022.
      https://www.yahoo.com/news/south-korean-president-declares-emergency-133956171.html

      1. “accusing the country’s opposition of controlling the parliament, sympathizing with North Korea and paralyzing the government with anti-state activities”

Is there any actual evidence presented to substantiate these allegations? Because it sure ain’t in the linked article.

Or is it, once again under the “Rules Based International Order” sufficient just to make an allegation and then move straight to an action – in this case Martial Law – which pre-assumes a conclusion which it aims to deduce? How very convenient – as well as ‘woke’ – where the party seeking advantage for itself gets to define the parameters of the situation to suit its own convenience and ends without recourse to that old-fashioned out of date concept known as due process.

However, some clues are to be found in the article. Clues which you neglected to highlight, Billy. Now colour me surprised that someone with your record would yet again seek to lie by omission in picking and choosing which elements of the article to re-print to suit a single sided bullshit narrative.

Here are the bits you missed out, Billy, which put a somewhat different slant on these actions:

“The move drew immediate opposition from politicians, including the leader of his own conservative party, Han Dong-hoon, who called the decision “wrong” and vowed to “stop it with the people.” Opposition leader Lee Jae-myung, who narrowly lost to Yoon in the 2022 presidential election, called Yoon’s announcement “illegal and unconstitutional.”

Yoon’s conservative People Power Party had been locked in an impasse with the liberal opposition Democratic Party over next year’s budget bill. The opposition has also been attempting to pass motions to impeach three top prosecutors, including the chief of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office, in what the conservatives have called a vendetta against their criminal investigations on Lee, who has been seen as the favorite for the next presidential election in 2027 in opinion polls.

Yoon has also been dismissing calls for independent investigations into scandals involving his wife and top officials, drawing quick, strong rebukes from his political rivals. The Democratic Party reportedly called an emergency meeting of its lawmakers following Yoon’s announcement.”

But, credit where it is due, Billy, in providing us with:

        1. Yet another classic example of the way “The Rules Based International Order” operates.

        and

        2. Your continuing part in supporting it and its double standards and hypocrisy.

You’ve actually made my case for me:

        https://skwawkbox.org/2024/12/03/airstrikes-kill-9-wound-others-in-s-lebanon-as-israel-violates-ceasefire/#comment-262134

No wonder the West is going to hell in a handcart when even low level shills and cheerleaders such as yourself display such staggering incompetence.

      2. Dave – Oh for goodness sake get a grip of yourself.
I have not condoned or condemned the imposition of marshal law, all I’ve done is report the limited facts that were available at the time of posting. As one would expect in what is a fast moving news item the article that I have linked to above has been updated several times since my initial post.
The latest reports indicate that the army is now on the streets of Seoul

      3. The latest news appears to be that the parliament in Seoul has voted to lift Martial Law

      4. “all I’ve done is SELECTIVELY report the limited facts that were available at the time of posting.”

There. Fixed it for you, Billy.

      5. I take it there are no mirrors where you are, Billy.

  3. Meanwhile, some analysis of the latest Western ‘Rules Based Order’ colour revolution in Georgia:

    https://rumble.com/v5vl7aq-eus-georgia-regime-change-operation-enters-final-month.html?e9s=src_v1_ucp

Another attempt to overthrow an elected Government, as per Rule 2, sub-paragraph 2 of “The Rules Based International Order”:

“Paragraph 2 – The United States and Western countries have the duty and obligation to impose, if necessary through force and other dissuasive methods of intervention, including the correction of existing regimes, the holding of general elections in all nations of the planet according to the unique model, that of Liberal Democracy, originally founded and practiced in the United States of America. Any election results presented as fair and legitimate in any nation on the planet and that do not correspond to the interests of the West and the absolute freedom of the Market will be considered falsified and manipulated, a necessary and sufficient reason for them not to be recognized by Western nations. These nations, primarily the United States of America, reserve the duty to enforce that these entities are isolated, excluded and punished within the international community defined by this International Rules-Based Order.”

The same process is also currently underway in Romania.

    1. Dave – I’m not the gullible idiot who is quoting the propaganda of the corrupt fascist Putin.

      1. But you are the gullible idiot who posts such evidence free drivel. Have you got any evidence to substantiate your claims, or are you once again just jerking off to the sound of your own words?

      2. Dave – I am simply pointing out that you are a pretend leftie who is proselytising the corrupt fascist Putin’s propaganda.
Why would I or anyone else care what you think, you’re a joke?

      3. “I am simply pointing out, WITH NO EVIDENCE TO SUBSTANTIATE MY CLAIMS.”

There. Fixed it for you again, Billy.

      4. Dave – Why would I or anyone else care what you think, you’re a joke?

      5. Billy – I’m not submitting my subjective opinions, I’m laying out objective facts based on verifiable substantive evidence.

Your pathetic woke level attempts to redefine other people’s positions as the opposite of what they are to provide cover for your own evidence free excuse for an argument is simply the kind of projection you are now well known for.

Even village idiots would be embarrassed by such desperation. Peter Pan is a model of maturity in comparison.

  4. Meanwhile, former Marine Brian Berletic……

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BNcA18FFHk&ab_channel=TheNewAtlas

……uses copious official western documents only – including leaked intelligence reports; the 2019 Rand Report; media articles etc – to detail the irrefutable evidence of the long support of Western Powers for terrorist jihadists and other murderous terrorist head choppers in colour revolutions and regime change operations in Syria and other parts of the Near East, Ukraine and the Caucuses.

One looks forward with glee to the standard, sad, pathetic response, which effectively claims that Western Intelligence Agencies and Corporate Media are pushing “Putin Propaganda” from those amongst us who apparently still believe the Russiagate propaganda.

It really is going to be fun watching what happens when that unreality bubble bursts under the inevitable pressure of reality.

      1. The real question is, Billy, Do you really mean that Maung Zarni?

Are you really publicly hanging your hat on the say so of someone with documented proven associations with organisations and institutions that are integral parts of the US Foreign Policy Establishment and trying to claim that anyone presenting evidence of that is pushing a conspiricy?

Really? That is genuine 22-caret Zen level naivety, and gullibility.

        Let’s look at the critique piece from Berletic;

        https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/IPESQikddns?modestbranding=1&rel=0

Which readers can make their own judgement in regard to the assertions of the FORSEA article you have hung your hat on, Billy.

A piece which commences with the very obvious and reasonable GENERIC point that HR organisations and similar NGO’s need to consider the optics of transparency. Particularly relating to where their funding comes from, who is supporting them and links to outside Colonialist interests.

It’s why Georgia passed a Foreign Agents Bill to get it into line with the US Foreign Agents legislation.

Leading onto highlighting a FORSEA article;e complaining about a news article from another source which FORSEA complains is falsely accusing them of being and acting against the Thai Monarchy. Berletic notes, again reasonably, that the original claim on this point has merit and gives two examples of why this is so.

If you have a challenge to this based on objective evidence, Billy, lets hear it or shut the fuck up. with this baseless nonsense.

He then focuses on the fact, reported in the FORSEA article he is quoting from, that an original meeting to set up such initiatives took place in France with the active participation of that former colonial power. A reasonable criticism in the context of the opening point about transparency and association.

Again, Billy, if you have credible objective evidence – rather than the say so of interested party’s with dubious, if any, credibility – that this was not the case present it or shut the fuck up with your evidence free drivel aimed at smearing anyone you disagree with but cannot contradict with substantive evidence.

The piece then goes on to provide further critique using FORSEA’s own sources. Noting the recorded fact that key figures are based abroad along with the fact that the writer of the article you are quoting, Billy, Maung Zarni who is Secretary of FORSEA, left Burma on the eve of an “uprising” sponsored by the USA and who founded the Free Burma Coalition. Providing archive footage of one of the key figures in the US regime change operation of the time receiving one of many awards from the USA alongside Madeleine (half a million dead Iraqi children is a price worth paying) Albright .

        Not very good optics, Billy.

Berletic goes on to quote US Congressional Documentation from 2003 which contains testimony from the Free Burma Coalition (co-founded by Maung Zarni) that, quote:

“One way we are working to bring change to Burma is through information. The National Endowment for Democracy gives money to organisations along the Thailand Burma border that help to get information inside the country, including this newspaper the new Era Journal…… We are also very grateful for services from the Voice of America and Radio Free Asia.”

We all look forward to your umpteenth evidence free rendition that this documentation from the USA quoted above in Bereletic’s piece is a work of fiction/ does not exist/ is “Putin” propaganda. Go tell it to the Marines, as the Yanks say, Billy.

…..and moving on to further quote from Maung Zarni’s profile which details:

“In 2003 Zarni….initiated…negotiations with the support of…..US State Department Officials between the Burmese military and outside actors such as British Officials, ILO and Germany’s Green party Foundation.”

A profile which also notes his involvement in the Rockefeller Foundation’s Next Generation leadership scheme and a number of other Western based institutions and organisations.

The video piece from Berletic continues by noting that another FORSA Board member, Soviceth Meta, is a translator at the Documentation Centrer of Cambodia. The Documentation Center of Cambodia’s web site features information that it receives funding from the USA. It does not bother to hide this fact.

Highlighting the documented funding and other evidence based links between specific NGO’s and self-identifying Human Rights organisations and well known and documented US foreign Policy Organisations such as the National Endowment for Democracy, Voice of America, Radio Free Asia, and The Rockefeller Foundation is reasonable criticism.

What it is not – as you once again dishonestly seek to portray, Billy – is evidence free “conspiracy theory.”

So I’ll ask again: Do you really mean that Maung Zarni?

Your Ball. If you can pick it up rather than rely on the usual bullshit one-liners, Billy.

    1. Billy – a simple confirmation of that Maung Zarni would have sufficed.

And you even managed to bottle out of that.

      1. Dave – Don’t be silly what was there to bottle out of. I thought that those interested would Google Maung Zarni for themselves and find lots of articles like this one below.

Burmese activist Maung Zarni nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize

        April 17, 2024 – Mizzima
The renowned Northern Irish peace activist Mairead Corrigan Maguire, herself a recipient of the 1976 Nobel Peace Prize, has nominated the UK-exiled Burmese human rights activist and genocide scholar Dr Maung Zarni for the prestigious prize.
On the eve of the Burmese traditional New Year this week, the Forces of Renewal Southeast Asia (FORSEA) and the Free Rohingya Coalition (FRC) jointly announced Maguire’s nomination, based on Zarni’s “impactful and tireless activism for peace and harmony among human communities over three decades”.
Maguire’s nomination letter to the Nobel committee highlighted Zarni’s activism both for democracy in Myanmar and for “non-violence campaigners for peace and freedom from Tibet, East Timor (now Timor Leste), Nigeria, India, Thailand, Palestine and the Jewish diaspora”.
While Zarni says that the Nobel prize “has been deeply tarnished” by some awards, “of which the late Henry Kissinger was only the most infamous”, he adds, that “as a radical anti-imperialist, I am most proud to be Maguire’s choice”.
Mairead Maguire has long been a champion of anti-imperialist causes, including standing up for Israeli nuclear whistleblower Mordechai Vanunu, the oppressed Palestinians and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. Among her past nominees are Edward Snowden, Chelsea Manning and Julian Assange.
Marilyn Langlois, fellow member of Johan Galtung’s TRANSCEND network wrote: “Zarni became part of our family when he came to the US in 1988, and drew my daughter and me into his pioneering activism with the Free Burma Coalition, opposing military dictatorship in his home country, a few years later. Ever since then, he has been a teacher and role model for me in advocacy for positive peace–not just the absence of war but affirming the dignity and self-determination of all people suffering the ravages of oppression and structural violence.”
Dr Helen Jarvis (Cambodia), Vice-President of the Permanent People’s Tribunal, and recipient of the 2021 Lifetime Award from the International Association of Genocide Scholars says: “Forthright and unabashed straightforwardness mixed with compassion were the characteristics that first struck me, when in 2013 in Bremen, Germany, I worked with Zarni as a fellow judge on the Second People’s Tribunal on Sri Lanka. Over the past decade I have been proud to work alongside him in many different campaigns, witnessing his continued principled commitment to stand the oppressed of this earth in the fight for freedom and justice.”
Isham Rais, Malaysian film director, stand-up comedian, political and social activist, and FORSEA co-founder wrote: “I have known Zarni – The Enemy of the State – via FORSEA – an academician – a solid Public Intellectual – a thoroughbred activist not only for Myanmar but for the human race. He raised the
Rohingya issue globally and stood up for the rights of the Palestinians – yes he is the enemy of oppression.”
Dato Sri Saifuddin Abdullah, Malaysian Member of Parliament, former Foreign Minister and Chairman of Parti BERSATU’ International Bureau said: “Zarni is an activist-academic who is very committed to the struggle of the Myanmar people to uphold freedom, human rights and democracy. His approach is consultative and inclusive, with a clear people-centred end game. He does not limit his works only for his countrymen and women, but extended it to the oppressed around the globe.”

  5. That would be the Nobel “Peace” Prize which received nominations in the name of, to pick a few notable examples:

    – Barack Obama – who bombed more people than George W Bush.

    – Henry Kissinger – one of the biggest War Criminals of recent history.

    – Tsar Nicholas II of Russia.

    – Franz Joseph I Emperor of Austro-Hungry

    – Teddy Roosevelt – who helped to plan the US navel war against Spain and whose “Rough Riders” were instrumental in replacing Spanish Colonial rule over Cuba with US colonial rule.

    – Emperor Wilhelm II of Prussia

    – Ramsey MacDonald

    – Benito Mussolini

    – Joseph Stalin

    – Harry Truman, US President who authorised the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

    – John Foster Dulles

    – Lyndon Johnson – US President who executed the Vietnam War.

    – Richard Nixon

And your point is what exactly, Billy?

Does a Nobel nomination negate and magically make disappear the documented evidence of FORSA, The Free Burma Coalition and Maung Zarni, among others associated with those organisations, receiving funding and support from institutions and organisations in the US and Western Foreign Policy sectors with a record o violent regime changes longer than Al Capone’s arm?

It is irrelevant to the issue except as a reminder of some of the nominated company Zarni is now a part of.

    1. Dave – Did you miss the bit which clearly states that While Zarni says that the Nobel prize “has been deeply tarnished” by some awards, “of which the late Henry Kissinger was only the most infamous”, he adds, that “as a radical anti-imperialist, I am most proud to be Maguire’s choice”.
I posted the above link because it clearly shows that many people admire and respect him.

As for Brian Berletic (an ex US Army technician) I have no respect for someone who extols the ‘virtues’ of the military junta in Myanmar, and the oppressive dictatorships in Cambodia and China.

You appear to be the living breathing proof that the Horseshoe Theory really does exist.
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horseshoe_theory

      1. “If you give me six lines written by the hand of the most honest of men, I will find something in them which will hang him.”

        – Cardinal Richelieu

Billy – nothing in your posts contradicts or negates the key point of the argument you are seeking to challenge.

Which is that substantive evidence has been presented of FORSEA, the Free Burma Coalition and by extension Zarni having received funding and associated their campaigns with institutions, organisations and individuals of and from the US Foreign Policy Establishment.

A Foreign Policy Establishment with a documented and proven track record of funding NGO’s and HR organisations across the globe over decades designed to active US foreign policy aims and objectives by installing authoritarian and dictatorial puppet regimes.

Going all the way back to the USA’s most decorated Marine General, Smedley-Butler* in Mexico, Cuba, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Honduras, and China; through to Iran under the Shah, Iraq, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Chile, El Salvador, Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina, Somalia, et al. The substantive evidence is well documented.

And the wider contextual point you are deliberately and wilfully missing (because no one is that obtuse) is that such associations undermine the campaigns, objectives, aims and efforts of such organisations like FORSA, FBC etc along with those working to achieve them.

It’s not difficult, Billy. Replacing one authoritarian or dictatorial administration with another, which the long and wide record of evidence demonstrates, invariably results in being worse than what is replaced is not progress.

Has (will it ever?) the tragedy of that fact based objective reality sunk in?

That is the point you are desperately trying to avoid with your puny and pathetic tribute act to Cardinal Richelieu.

Have you got any substantive objective based evidence at all which refutes that put forward by Berletic on this specific point?

I’m on record on this site as being extremely suspicious of George Galloway as a result of personal experience many years ago. Yet I don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater by automatically as a reflex action discount an evidence based argument backed up with credible facts just because it’s Galloway saying it the way you constantly are, Billy.

The world and real life is not, never has been, and never will or can be some simplistic binary Hollywood script.

Stick to the point using an evidence based approach rather than this child level nonsense of projection and redefining anything and everything anyone says to suit your own groundless woke self-definitions where you consistently pre-assume the conclusions you are aiming to deduce, because you obviously are not mature enough to cope with analysis which contradicts your own limited ego and psyche.

You consistently pollute this site, throwing smears and innuendo around like confetti at everybody and anybody with no objective based evidence to substantiate your bluster and bullshit.

Poster’s across this board spend time and effort providing objective based evidence to support analysis and inviting you to do the same, only to be at the receiving end of tirade after tirade of puerile invective, smears and downright libellous level lies from someone with a mindset which point-blank refuses to substantiate the bile and spite they scatter about like a toddler having a temper tantrum.

Grow up, Billy. Start engaging with reality rather that sitting there stewing in your own vomit and throwing it at everyone else because you prefer to cocoon yourself in a safe space bubble trying to keep the real world and its complexity at bay and very obviously resenting anyone and everyone who prefers to operate and live in the reality based community.

No one here on this site is your personal scratching board, Billy. Deal with it. Get your act together and have the maturity and bottle not to hide and cower behind a pseudonym whilst smearing others from a safe distance.

*“I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism. I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street. I helped purify Nicaragua for the International Banking House of Brown Brothers in 1902-1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for the American sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Honduras right for the American fruit companies in 1903. In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went on its way unmolested. Looking back on it, I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents.”
― Smedley D. Butler, War Is a Racket

      2. Not as dark as it is down there.

However, it would be churlish on my part not to acknowledge your proving my point for me.

      3. Ah! I see it’s an early bedtime, again!

To anyone else out there reading this: Is anyone free for what remains of the afternoon to give us a hand clearing up all this tumbleweed? I can’t get to the kitchen to start cooking the evening meal.

      4. I’m not the one with no mates, Billy.

How do you square your supposed democratic principles with your support for listed terrorists with a record of head chopping in Syria and your hero worship of Banderites in 404 who cover their bodies with tattoos of Nazi symbols?

      5. Dave – Which begs the question – Why are you following me around like a needy stray?

      6. And yet almost every time I post something you are the one who immediately appears out of nowhere and are all over it like a rash with your evidence free smears, Billy.

Having been bought up with good manners and a respect for the concept of reciprocity, I’m merely returning the compliment.

        What’s your sorry excuse?
