Fans continue proud record of opposition to genocide and imperialism

Celtic football fans in Gaza have a proud tradition of resistance to the UK Establishment and have stood in such firm solidarity with the people of Palestine against Israel’s occupation and genocide that they were thanked personally by Gaza poet Refaat Alareer – and paid tribute to him in turn after he was murdered, along with his family, in a targeted Israeli bombing.
And they did themselves proud again yesterday, on Remembrance Sunday when millions remember the dead of earlier wars and horrors, unfurling a series of banners condemning Keir Starmer’s participation in Israel’s genocide in Gaza and describing it as a continuation of Britain’s ‘crimes of empire’:
Israel continues to murder Palestinians and has already killed around 200,000 civilians in Gaza, overwhelmingly women and children, with young infants the biggest age group murdered – and is starving two million more, especially the 400,000 people suffering bombing and ethnic cleansing in northern Gaza.
Starmer and his lackeys, including Foreign Secretary David Lammy, continue to cover for and collude in this mass slaughter, remaining silent about Israel’s atrocities and gangsterism and refusing even to use the word ‘genocide’ and using British military assets to spy for and supply Israel’s terrorist military. Starmer has also declared war on UK independent journalists and activists who expose Israel’s crimes, while UK ‘mainstream’ media colludes in the cover-up, even to the point of deleting videos exposing a Zionist rampage in Amsterdam, to support the Israeli regime’s false narrative of ‘antisemitic attacks’.

The Celtic fans know their history and the present plus great communication skills.
Well done Celtic!
QUESTION: Celtic fans, Israeli football fans, compare and contrast.
It’s great to know that we can always count on Celtic fans.
Hail Hail the Celts are here what the hell do we care now. A club founded by a migrant community that was being discriminated against. Still standing up for oppressed people today.
And the government has also made it very clear that it opposes nuclear disarmament!
So please ask your MP to sign EDM 123. A big ‘thank you’ to Jeremy Corbyn for sponsoring it and another big ‘thank you’ to the Green Party and Plaid Cymru as all of their MPs have signed.
