Article removal campaign now hitting readers who try to share articles

Facebook appears to be escalating its censorship campaign of Skwawkbox articles, particularly of a post linking to a factual list of concrete examples of BBC dishonesty – the broadcaster has funded a series of ads claiming to be a reliable arbiter of what is real news and what is disinformation, which in itself is clearly disinformation.
The social media platform deleted the original Skwawkbox post that pointed to the article within seconds of it going online, the third such censorship in less than a week – and sent its usual threat of ‘further restrictions’ if anything else is posted to which it and its bots take exception. So far, it has not replied to any of the appeals submitted against its wrong removals.
But now it is hitting readers of the Skwawkbox site who try to link to it, and groups in which it is shared, in a clear escalation of its campaign against inconvenient free speech regardless how accurate it is – with numerous readers and groups contacting Skwawkbox to report their experience of this censorship. A few are shown below:

The censorship is unsurprising – Facebook, like Twitter, has long been on a trajectory of favouring right-wing and even extremist accounts and articles over left-wing. It was exposed in 2020 using its algorithms to target left-wing sources while relaxing fact-checking standards on right-wing pages. While much of its censorship is AI-driven, it also uses human ‘fact-checkers’ with ties to hard-right groups and news outlets.
But the key question is – why is Facebook intervening to protect a state-run broadcaster engaged in what appears to be a state-sponsored campaign to protect and promote state disinformation from the exposure of lies and bias, at a time when the US, UK and other governments are openly seeking to control the information and narratives that their populations get to see in a time of live-streamed genocide and warmongering when western governments are either lying, silent or both.

Who can possibly fathom it..?
Social media that protect genuine free speech and dissent are urgently needed, but those who wish to be sure of finding the informing that Skwawkbox uncovers should subscribe to this site’s free mailing list and to the Skwawkbox Telegram channel.

Clearly, in a ever-changing surveillance environment like the world wide web users must remain ever-vigilant and willing to change.
Currently, Telegram is not known to be actively restricting users access to diverse information, their ability to be informed, to form opinions or change those opinions. Nor does it track users internet activity, log the data and use it for revenue or power.
Today I am happy to load and use Telegram to access Skwawkbox. Tomorrow? Who knows.
I posted your article about the British Bullshit Corporation. It was removed within 30 seconds.

Professor John Robertson
“Lennon was fatally shot in 1980”
That was all yesterday’s Guardian could say about John Lennon’s death in an article yesterday which ran to almost a page.
And yet, credible evidence of CIA involvement in the assassination was first alleged by Fenton Bresler in a book that came out as long ago as 1989!
Nearly a year ago, a new book came out which showed that the CIA was behind it and that there was a second shooter who was the real assassin.
The official narrative of the shooting is totally false apart from the fact that Lennon was shot and subsequently died.
I was just checking out the reviews on amazon re the book, and this was how one of them (from 2001) finished:
The fact is, the CIA’s shenanigans go far beyond MK-ULTRA, and have not stopped yet. They are gathering power as you read this, and looking the other way will not stop them. I’m not sure what will, but letting anyone else do your thinking for you won’t. Learn as much as you can and know your own mind. Question authority, as the mantra from the 60s challenged, and do not allow the dreams and visions of the flower children to be silenced. They are not dead. They did take root. The toxic poison that surrounds us all is a deadly threat, but as long as we are open to learning and knowing and speaking truth to power, there is hope.
