Yet more evidence US behind Nord Stream pipeline bombings

Danish newspaper reports US ships at pipeline site days before explosions

The 2022 explosions that destroyed the Nord Stream gas pipelines between Russia and Germany triggered a gas price crisis, subsequently exploited by price-gouging energy firms, that impoverished huge numbers of people in the UK and Europe. The US government and its client states and media first tried to blame the explosions on Russia, even though Russia could simply have switched off the supply if it wished to do so as a demonstration of power following its invasion of Ukraine.

But USA complicity had already been exposed by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh, with US government spin attempting to discredit Hersh and blame an unspecified ‘pro-Ukrainian group’ – developments that were shamefully but unsurprisingly ignored by the UK’s so-called ‘mainstream’ media. When a US navy diving boot was found at the explosion site, the US government switched tactics, trying to blame the sabotage on Ukrainian divers in an operation at first approved by Ukrainian president Zelenskiy, but claiming that he then tried to withdraw position but the divers proceeded anyway – drunk, according to the official story.

But the propaganda was undermined by the fact that, many months before, both US president Joe Biden and US Under-Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland had promised that if Russia invaded Ukraine, ‘we will bring an end’ to the Nord Stream pipelines – and when a reporter asked how, Biden said ‘I promise you, we’ll be able to do it’:

And now, more evidence has come to light with a Danish newspaper interview with Christiansø harbour master John Anker Nielsen. The paper reports:

For the first few days, the harbour master said he was “not allowed to say a thing”. But today, John Anker Nielsen can reveal that four or five days before the Nord Stream blasts, he was out with the rescue service on Christiansø because there were some ships with switched-off radios. They turned out to be American naval vessels, and when the rescue service approached, they were told by Naval Command to turn back.

A Christiansø rescue vessel was recorded leaving the harbour and heading about halfway to the (eventual) explosion site and stopping for ten minutes or so before returning:

A convoy of US naval vessels subsequently turned on its transponders and moved away. The Swedish and Danish governments have now dropped their investigations into the explosions.

If Hersh is correct that the US destroyed the pipelines in order to remove any Russian leverage over Germany and to force Europe to buy more gas from the US – and the evidence seems overwhelming – then the US attacked a key asset of one of its allies. To those who watch the US’s behaviour and have seen its support for Israel’s genocide even when it murders US citizens this is unsurprising, but it is still a matter that should be screaming from headlines in every UK newspaper.

Instead, silence.
