Starmer, Lammy silent as Spain, Italy, France, Ireland condemn Israel’s attacks on UN peacekeepers

Foreign ministers of other countries summon embassies, condemn lawbreaking – but Starmer and Lammy stay silent on attacks and even spokesperson refuses to say Israel breaking international law

Keir Starmer and David Lammy have refused to condemn Israel for its attacks on UN peacekeepers in Lebanon or to say it is breaking international law.

While the prime and/or foreign ministers of Spain, Italy, France and Ireland have all strongly condemned the rogue state’s attacks as deliberate and a clear breach of international law – and at least France and Italy summoned Israel’s ambassadors for a rebuke and a demand for an end to Israel’s actions – Starmer and Lammy, in person and on their social media, have said nothing. They found time to drone on about other things, however, including slavish support for Ukraine’s far-right regime, but haven’t said a peep about yet more Israeli war crimes. Even US president Joe Biden said he had asked Israel to stop – feeble but better than the Starmer regime has managed.

Lammy and Starmer found time for this, but not to condemn yet more Israeli war crimes

Starmer instead sent out a ‘Number 10 spokesperson’ to try to deflect, but when asked directly by a journalist to say Israel was breaking international law, the spokesperson would only respond with the weasel-worded answer that it was:

vital that peacekeepers and civilians are protected…All parties must always do everything possible to protect civilians and comply with international law. But we continue to reiterate that and call for an immediate cease-fire.

The spinelessness is a stark contrast with Starmer’s response when Iran retaliated for Israel’s aggression by firing missiles at Israeli military facilities, avoiding civilian casualties, when Starmer almost fell over himself in his haste to issue a video message to the UK condemning Iran’s ‘aggression’ and pledging eternal support for Israel.

Israel has so far wounded at least four UN peacekeepers and destroyed cameras and observation towers. Earlier this week it tried to order an Irish Unifil garrison to abandon its post next to a village that the invasion force clearly wanted to attack. The Irish refused.

  1. We continue to be shamed by Starmer and Lammy for their ongoing support for mass murder in the Middle East and for slavish support for Nato’s war in Ukraine.
Both driven by the same imperialist U$A to maintain their own hegemony.

    1. MURDER of, + attacks of ANY peacekeepers, is FULLY within the abominations Sir Keith Starmer & Gang cannot bear to condemn, because they tacitly + often OPENLY approve.
They r OK with FLAGRANT disregard for international law and PEACE itself.

Sir Keith gives infinitely more concern re: whence cometh yet MORE freebies, be they spectacles, suits, pop tickets, gowns for his wife, multimillion pound luxury apartment stays… so his son can study for GCSEs after they’ve been sat … anything really, as long as he can avoid dipping into his nearly half MILLION pounds of income and substantial assets.

Attacks and SLAUGHTER of PEACEKEEPERS will bring ZERO meaningful condemnation from Sir Keith Scrounger Starmer & Gang.
It’s called being bad, Bad, BAD news.

  2. 12 OCT = Starmer’s 100th day of power.
    Support and Approval = Nosediving.

Jeremy Corbyn MP said: “In just 100 days, the government has taken away winter fuel payments from pensioners, chosen to keep 250,000 children in poverty, and desecrated the value of international law.

“How much longer will it take for the government to wake up and deliver the change that people expected and still deserve?”

    Don’t hold your breath !
The Labour Party has long-since been colonised by the Enemies of the People.
They have already shown that they have this government bought and paid for.

    1. well said.. It was Jeremy Corbyn who said it johnsco1, me, I agree with you, it’s a pretend-Labour gov

  4. The message couldn’t be clearer: the British government does not believe in the UN and the rule of law. “All power grows out of the barrel of a gun”

    1. “All power grows out of the barrel of a gun”

As it has over the past 500 years from the Collective Worst.

      As observed here……

“A liberated Palestine means a liberated Middle East. A liberated Middle East means that capitalism in the core really faces a crisis, and they will not let that happen. And they are releasing the full violence of their extraordinary power to ensure it doesn’t.”

  5. A disturbing insight.

  6. I had very low expectations for New New Labour, with the exception of taking railways back into public ownership, they haven’t met them.

  7. Many British Jews were horrified when Tzipi Hotovely was appointed Israeli Ambassador to Britain.
    They weren’t to be disappointed.
I suppose that makes them all anti-Semites ……..
Oh – No – Wait —— That was Jeremy Corbyn – of course !
    My mistake !

…….. AND – – – What sort of a man allows another man to buy his wife’s underwear ????
C’mon Keef … Have you no shame ?
