Video: Lammy repeatedly refuses to say Iran has right to defend itself against Israel

Iranian or Lebanese defence risks regional war, but not Israel’s attacks, apparently

Foreign Secretary David Lammy has repeatedly refused to say that Iran or Lebanon have a right to self-defence against Israel’s attacks, during an interview with Channel 4.

Lammy also made clear that he only views any retaliation or defence by the people targeted by Israel as ‘escalatory’ and a threat to the region, but would not condemn Israel’s attacks on Lebanon – and said that he regrets being forced by UK law to impose any limits on arms exports – his suspension of export licences has been tiny and designed to be bypassed – to Israel.

And he simply ignored the interviewer’s point about Israel taking constant UK and US affirmation of Israel’s supposed ‘right to self-defence’ as a ‘green light’ to continue its aggressions, which are what is actually dragging the Middle East into regional war:

He went on to say the UK helped shoot down Iran’s retaliatory missiles last week, made clear it will continue to help Israel avoid or minimise any consequences for its action – and, like his boss, to talk of Israel’s hundreds of thousands of victims as if they were hit by a natural disaster rather than acknowledge the reality that they are being killed, maimed and starved with intent by Israel’s colonial regime.

Lammy and his boss Keir Starmer continue to collude in genocide and the global crisis Israel is fuelling, a crime for which they have been repeatedly called out.

  1. Therein lies the very definition of double standards
    👁️👁️👁️

    1. Biden sent a warship to ensure no country came to the aid of the long suffering disposed Palestinians.

Lammy & Starmer are ok with HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of Palestinians being slaughtered from their dispossession to date.

      Where’s the morality in that❔❓❔❓❔❓

      1. Where’s the morality in that❔❓❔❓❔❓

I wonder, has the greasy freeloading, diminutive, soporific one, and/or any of his clique been asked to give their opinion on THE most moral army in the world??

I think we should watch/hear them try to worm their way out of answering THAT one…

      2. Windchimes,it’s all been handed out in little parcels to the IDF but they missed the lecture on what morality means. They think that rape, torture and mass murder are moral. Diaper wearing soldiers weren’t told that some people don’t like their morality. They don’t like it up em, Corporal Jones got it right One year of fighting and truce and cease fire are profanities.

  2. Someone actually managed to drag a Government Minister away from all the jolly’s and freebies they believe they are entitled to receive from all the lobbyists of the corporations who have those Ministers and the government in their back pockets, to speak in front of a camera?

Has no one had the humanity to contact Amnesty International, Oxfam, or War on Want on Lammy’s behalf for this indignity and breach of his human rights?

When can we expect the carpet bombing of Channel 4 News to commence?

  3. Sir Keir Zion Starmer and David Lebensraum Lammy*, by appointment to the PR Dept of the State of Israel .

    ______
*. Lammy’s real middle name is “Lindon”.

      1. qwertboi, I suspect the missing word to assist in what timfrom is alluding to may well be “Uncle.”?

      2. DOH! I’m a bit literal sometimes – sorry timfrom🇵🇸🇵🇸😀😀

  4. Lammy would lose his job if he told the truth, Israel can lash out and provoke all states around them, even the United Nations are abused and called AntiSemites and its Sec Gen A Guterres is declared persona non grata. I hope the Apartheid state keep up these acts of impunity, that would guarantee its pariah status. Then bye bye the baby killers.

    1. I don’t understandhow a people of such a small population and diaspora wild such influence and power. Both houses in USA, our parliament and others are pro Zionist. Don’t they read?

  5. So who defends the poor people of the West Bank? Do we have Lammy saying “Pretty please murder fewer peaceable sheep and goat herders and don’t let your thieving “settlers” steal land and houses and be protected in their theft by the IDF. If any organisation should be proscribed as a terrorist group, surely it is the IDF?

    1. Or that group of ‘settlers’ who parade about on other people’s land with automatics hanging on their guts. They’re terrorists. One bullet fired in their area and it’s back to wherever they came from. They don’t even call themselves what they are, ‘illegal immigrants ‘.

  6. If Iran and Israel want to engage in a pissing contest then we should be shooting down all missiles going back and forth which might alert both the two nations as well as those who unquestioningly supply them that this is a colossal waste of money and a distraction from ending the conflict in Gaza.

    1. We’d have a hard job Tim – every single mach3/supersonic missile that Iran has used couldn’t be shot down by the the ‘golden dome’/’golden shot’, or whatever it is that occupier-Israel calls its ‘state of the art’ defence system.

And the Republic of Iran’s retaliation against Israeli aggression on Lebanon is not a ‘distraction’ but is likely to cause the US and its follower-puppys to ENFORCE a ceasefire (cease-genocide) in Gaza.

And G*d bless the Ayatollah Khomeini, an Islamic man of peace.

  7. Good post QB. That Golem Shit just ain’t up to it. God bless the Hutis.
