Hundreds killed in repeat bombing of six residential blocks that was so severe it killed almost everyone inside them. US politicians applaud, Starmer and Lammy shamefully silent
US president Joe Biden and vice-president – and Democrat presidential candidate – Kamala Harris have responded to Friday’s assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah referring to the killing as ‘a measure of justice’. Hundreds of people are believed to have been killed in Israel’s repeated strikes – at least two heavy missiles each, according to locals – on six residential blocks in the Beirut suburb of Dahieh.
The strikes were so devastating that Dr Jihad Saadeh, who rushed to the nearby Rafik Hariri hospital to treat casualties, told the Financial Times that everyone inside the six blocks was killed:
We saw the jets of red smoke shoot up into the sky, the buildings just collapsed. We got only bodies at first. The buildings just collapsed. All of them were below the rubble. There were no injuries, just fatalities.
So determined has Israel been to deny the casualties that press releases referred to the casualty figures as provided by the ‘Hezbollah-run health ministry’, echoing the language of ‘Hamas-run health ministry’ used to dismiss death numbers in Gaza – but the Lebanese health ministry is not run by Hezbollah – Lebanon’s government is run by liberal president Najib Mikati.
In response to the mass killings, both Biden and his VP used similar language of ‘justice’ and underlined their commitment to Israel’s security. A statement released on behalf of Biden referred to Nasrallah’s ‘four decades of terror’ and continues:
His death from an Israeli airstrike is a measure of justice for his many victims, including thousands of Americans, Israelis, and Lebanese civilians.
Biden went on to say that he has ordered further strengthening of the US’s military deployment in the region to ‘deter aggression’ – though clearly this does not refer to Israeli aggression, so Biden is again protecting the provocateur attacking its neighbours.
Harris’s statement used the same ‘justice’ phrase:
Today, Hezbollah’s victims have a measure of justice. I have an unwavering commitment to the security of Israel. I will always support Israel’s right to defend itself against Iran and Iran-backed terrorist groups such as Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis.
At the time of writing, both statements appeared to have been removed from the White House website, but were still available on the Wayback Machine internet archive.
Neither politician referred at all to the mass killing of Palestinian civilians by Israel under Netanyahu, which include the targeted murders of aid workers from the US, UK, Canada and Australia in Gaza, the killing of a US citizen in the occupied West Bank, or the murder of around 170 journalists and the targeting of UN and other aid agency workers and facilities. Nor did they mention the starvation and disease imposed on the people of Gaza, or Israel’s mass – and grossly illegal – terror attacks and bombing that killed and maimed thousands of Lebanese civilians earlier this month, including large numbers of children.
UK PM Keir Starmer and Foreign Secretary David Lammy have not mentioned the Israeli bombing at all on their social media feeds. Lammy’s says that he talked to Lebanese president Mikati about the need for a ceasefire, but did not refer to the Dahieh bombing. Neither man still appears to have mentioned the booby-trap terror attacks by Israel weeks ago.
Israel is a terror state and it is enabled in its crimes by the backing of US governments and the complicity of the UK and others.

Dugin’s point being that the moral and legal resistance by the global majority against the sociopath’s of Western oligarchies and colonial hegemony are at an even bigger disadvantage than that identified by Simplicius in the previous quote.
A self-imposed disadvantage in that they are ceding permanent advantage by operating to Marquis of Queensbury Rules against a bunch of sociopath’s who are intent on completely eradicating anyone, including from within their own societies, who they deem ‘not one of them’ by any and every means available.

Re my comment above on the ICC warrants for the arrest of Netanyahu and Gallant, the request for arrest warrants was issued on 20 May against Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant, the defence minister, as well as three Hamas leaders, including Yawar Sinwar and Ismail Haniyeh, the now-deceased head of the Hamas political bureau. They still have not been issued by the three precourt trial judges, whereas the warrants for Putin’s non crimes were issued by them in less than three weeks.
