Murder and maiming of thousands in indiscriminate locations and settings is terrorism by a regime that has no interest in peace
Israel has again proven that it is a terrorist state – as if any further proof was needed with as many as 200,000 murdered in Gaza, many more maimed and two million facing starvation – with its use of widespread, indiscriminate bombs planted in pagers in Lebanon. At least 4,000 people have been injured – including the Iranian ambassador – many horrifically, and at least twelve killed, including a nine year old girl, Fatima Jaafar Abdullah. A Netanyahu aide posted a comment appearing to confirm Israel’s responsibility for the attack, before it was quickly deleted.
One video circulating widely shows the nature of the attacks, with a man left moaning in pain on the floor after a device explodes violently in his pocket:
The pagers are believed to have been part of a recent shipment into Lebanon. While Israeli sources have said the devices targeted Hezbollah officials, local reports say that doctors and other health workers carrying pages have also been hit, along with innocent bystanders including many children. A video published by Middle East Eye shows some of the injuries the bombs have caused:
This is not war or targeted assassination. The bombs went off at the same time, meaning that Israel had no idea where each person would be or whom they would be near when they went off, in the middle of the day when many wearers would be in crowded locations – and pagers would be carried at the head height of any children nearby. As some of the many outraged commenters have pointed out, indiscriminate attacks are terrorism and a gross breach of international law that would be instantly condemned by any western government if they were committed by any other entity:

Sanctions now – but the corruption and complicity of the UK and US governments run so deep that the US State Department would not even condemn the indiscriminate mass murder and maiming, instead saying only that it hoped Lebanon, Iran and others would not ‘escalate’ by retaliating, suggesting rogue-state Israel should be allowed to behave as it wishes without consequences.

Hence, it places Iran, Yemen and Lebanon between a rock and a hard place: if they respond resolutely to Israel terrorism, they will be drawn into an international war with the US supported by the UK.
If they don’t retaliate, it would encourage Israel to commit further terrorist attacks and weaken their governments as civilians in their countries will increasingly ask why Israel is allowed to target civilians without their governments responding in kind to Israel’s attacks.
The Houti’s in Yemen have already seen off the US Navy’s ‘Prosperity Guardian’ campaign and are currently able to deliver hypersonic ordinance into Israel past existing US navy vessels in the Red Sea and the Israeli defences.
