Video: Lammy defends Starmers’ £000s donations for clothes: ‘outfits should be funded by taxpayers’

Arrogance, hypocrisy and entitlement of Labour right writ large again as party drones try to defend undeclared sprees funded by multimillionaire donor given Downing Street pass

Foreign Secretary David Lammy has put the arrogance and entitlement of the Labour right on full show again today by telling Sky News, in defence of Starmer’s failure to declare shopping sprees funded for his wife by a multimillionaire party donor and the tens of thousands provided by the same donor for Starmer’s outfits, that if the taxpayer isn’t buying their clothes then politicians are entitled to have donors paying for them:

Starmer also accepted tens of thousands in other donations in kind from the donor, former ASOS chair Lord Alli, during the general election campaign. Alli was at the centre of a cronyism row last month after he was given a Downing Street pass by Starmer.

Starmer has a long record of enjoying freebies given by rich individuals and corporate donors including, shamefully, accepting free football tickets and hospitality worth thousands from the firm whose products caused the Grenfell Tower catastrophe, while it was being investigated by the Grenfell inquiry, which has since condemned suppliers and contractors for lying about the dangers of their products – and after it had already been forced to pay out almost £11 million over dangerous cladding on other buildings.

Labour’s and Lammy’s hypocrisy is boundless. When Boris Johnson was Tory PM, Lammy posted – as part of Labour’s attacks on Johnson’s love of gifts from rich donors:

Starmer’s ‘last scrap of integrity’ is, of course, thought by many to have disappeared long ago, but the hypocrisy and arrogance of the red-team Tories is appalling.

Meanwhile, Starmer has already said that he will not end the two-child benefit cap that leaves around 1.5 million British children poor, hungry and poorly-clothed – and has been rightly condemned for Rachel ‘Freeze’ Reeves’s announcement that millions of pensioners will be left to shiver in winter because of the removal of their Winter Fuel Allowance. Reeves has defended claiming thousands annually for her own heating bills. The cut, according to Labour’s own research, means thousands will die each winter.

  1. Not ‘donations’ but ‘investments’ don’t you know! Lammy is looking pretty well fed, which is more than many many poor families and pensioners…

  2. Arrogance, hypocrisy and entitlement….”

Proof-positive that Keir Starmer is not just an ordinary reactionary authoritarian. He genetically IS a bloody Tory.

  3. The UK, along with the rest of the Collective worst, is little more than a giant Rotten Borough.

These parasites have their faces so far into the trough that it is impossible to identify the boundary between feeder and receptacle.

It will certainly take a lot more than the 21st century equivalent of the 1834 Reform Act to remedy such a situation in which these self-entitled poltroons and quislings are so confident in their untouchability and exceptionalism that they have no qualms about rubbing our noses into the dirt and pissing down our backs in such a way.

Given the obvious intention of our self-selecting Overlords to return us all to a Feudal state of being, it seems both reasonable and equitable to get out the 21st century equivalent of the flaming torches and pitchforks and reintroduce the stocks and the guillotine.

    1. Who do they think they are. They need a reality check and that very soon. What a depraved self-serving bunch of Merchant Bankers!

  4. Did keef’s litter get their school uniforms paid for, too, ffs?

And was he at the N.London derby game today? If he was then there’s yet another freebie. He was shown on itv at donny races yesterday. Not that hed’ go to Doncaster for any other reason.

I heard piers moron mention something about keef going to spurs this morning on kuenssberg – Not that I watched it, I just happened to switch the TV on as it was finishing, with moron duly muted mid-flow.

Anyone’d think the country’s in great shape what with that greasy twunt swanning off to all sorts of sporting events instead of doing a bit of graft.
