EU’s Russian imports return to levels last seen before Nord Stream pipeline sabotage, says BRICS bloc
The European Union’s imports of gas from Russia have exceeded imports from the US for the first time in two years – since before the destruction of the twin ‘Nord Stream’ gas pipelines, which brought large volumes from Russia to Germany and the EU, an event used as an excuse for mass price-gouging by giant energy corporations that inflated profits while impoverishing millions.
Last year, Pulitzer prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh exposed US government complicity in the sabotage of the pipelines, which had forced European nations to buy more energy from the US and weakened European energy reliance on Russia during the Ukraine war, and an independent investigation found US navy diver materials at the explosion site. A day later, US media published leaked US government communications blaming Ukraine for the bombing of the pipelines.
At the same time, the Washington Post claimed that the UK and EU knew about the plans months before the sabotage took place:
But four months earlier than that, US president Joe Biden had boasted that he would shut down both pipelines if Russia invaded Ukraine:

Regardless of this increase, the EU and UK had already implemented the decision to sanction energy imports from Eurasia, particularly Russia, prior to the State Terrorism and act of war against Germany which was the the destruction of the Nordstream pipeline.
Those decisions as much as the destruction of the Nordstream pipeline have effectively de-industrialised Europe’s industrial German powerhouse. With energy intensive industries such as chemical and fertiliser production shutting down en masse.
The resulting massive increases in energy process have accelerated de-industrialisation across the geographical European continent, along with agricultural production as energy prices make it impossible for European producers at every level to break even never mind make a profit.
Volkswagan has just announced the first closure of factory production in Germany in its eighty-seven-year history. Go figure.
Recall that the first massive increase in gas prices pre-dated the destruction of Nordstream as the “Sacred” and “infallible” market moved to spot prices rather than long term guaranteed contracts for low-priced Eurasian/Russian gas and oil. Forcing food producers across Europe (including the UK) out of business.

As usual, the Carpetbaggers from Yankee land are cleaning up – selling already expansive (both in monetary and EROI terms) fracked gas energy to European States (like France) at three times the rate sold to US consumers. Not to mention buying up distressed UK and EU production facilities at cents on the dollar.
The sheer stupidity, ignorance, arrogance and incompetence of the UK and EU political elites is staggering. It’s off the scale as we pour money we need for our own societies into the Black Hole of 404 in order to further impoverish the population and country and mire it in unpayable debt* for the benefit of the US and its carpetbaggers who are currently buying up everything across the European continent on the cheap.

*Back around the 1830s or thereabouts the British Parliament borrowed somewhere in the region of about 35% of GDP at the time to pay recompense to the already wealthy former owners of slaves following the abolition of slavery in Britain.
