Melbourne Symphony Orchestra dismisses Jayson Gillham’s hard facts about murder of journalists by Israel as ‘personal views’
The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) has cancelled a planned performance by a world-renowned Australian pianist for stating facts about Israel and Gaza.
Jayson Gillham had performed the work ‘Witness’ – another composer’s tribute to Palestinian journalists – at the MSO last weekend and was due to perform again tomorrow. However, the orchestra has cut him out of its programme because Gillham, speaking before he played on Sunday, had said that Israel has killed more than a hundred journalists in Gaza since last October. This is a simple fact, attested to by the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), and if anything is an understatement.
UK-based Gillham, who played ‘Witness’ as one of a number of pieces, introduced it by saying:
Over the last 10 months, Israel has killed more than 100 Palestinian journalists…
The killing of journalists is a war crime in international law, and it is done in an effort to prevent the documentation and broadcasting of war crimes to the world.
The MSO issued a statement that Gillham had put it in a “difficult situation” and went on to dismiss his facts as ‘personal views’:
The MSO does not condone the use of our stage as a platform for expressing personal views.
The BBC, predictably, couched the news in regurgitated nonsense about ‘Hamas-led gunmen’ killing ‘about 1,200 people in an attack on Israel on 7 October’. This has long been debunked and the fact that the Israeli military killed an ‘immense’ number of its own citizens is openly discussed by Israeli media, but stubbornly ignored by UK press and broadcasters – just like Israel’s systematic rape and torture of Palestinian hostages. Israel has used the raid as an excuse for killing almost 200,000 Palestinians, overwhelmingly women and children.
The MSO’s cowardice prompted former Sydney Symphony Orchestra chairman Leo Schofield to comment that the:
MSO management should hang its collective head in shame.
Australia, like the UK, has continued to repeat Israeli talking points as news, with Israeli officials attacking any British broadcast journalist who dares challenge its narrative, with some being sacked by cowardly broadcasters. The National Union of Journalists issued a statement this week defending interviewer Mishal Husain after she was derided as a ‘cheerleader for Hamas’ for holding a British mouthpiece for Israel to account over Israel’s refusal to allow international journalists free access to Gaza.

The State of Palestine is recognised as a sovereign state by 145 of the 193 member states of the United Nations.
The United States, a permanent member of the UN Security Council with veto power, has consistently used its veto – or threatened it – to block Palestine’s full UN membership.
Britain, of course, follows the US on this.
Israel’s lies travel twenty times around the world before alternative versions are even considered once and declared obviously untrue by the BBC and its assistants and masters, the corporate press, the USA and the MSM. A wise person knows who to trust and why.

She had been interviewing David Mencer, former director of Labour Friends of Israel.
The process described is not just limited to the way The Official Narrative (TON) is imposed in regard to the Gaza Genocide.
We have seen the same play book applied to anyone who criticises Israel portrayed as “anti-Semitic”. With not only Corbyn smeared, vilified and cancelled in the same way as described in this article but also members of the Jewish Community. Not only publicly vilified but suspended and expelled from the Labour Party with no pretence of due process principles and standards being applied.
Similarly, the same process of vilification, lies, cancelling and outlawing as described here is applied just as vigorously and malevolently externally as it is internally to anyone challenging The Official Narrative on any issue not just by the usual suspects in the political and media classes who are merely paid functionaries for an Oligarchy but also their useless idiot cheerleaders across social media.
Internally, protestors from present day anti-genocide/pro-Palestinian actions across the Collective West to the Canadian truckers protesters a few years back are subject to the same Cancellation process as described above. With people who have the temerity to even donate small amounts of money from their armchair to crowd funding sites rather than actively participate in protests finding their bank accounts removed.
Making it effectively impossible for them to pay household and business bills and receive payments. Impacting on the ability of anyone subjected to such punitive sanctions – another feature of this practice which is applied to whole countries as well as internal ‘dissidents’ of The Official Narrative – to earn a living or run a small business.
Ditto for anyone who dares to contradict The Official Narrative on the biological reality of the immutability of sex who are subject to the same vilification along with losing their livelihood, censored across social as well as corporate media, expelled from any political party, de platformed and effectively outlawed from society.
Externally, we see the same process in regard to anyone designated as the official enemy – defined externally in the same way as it is internally as anyone who offers a different paradigm to that of The Official Narrative and its so called values.
Values which are applied inconsistently not just in relation to the way the Zionist apartheid state of Israel treat Palestinians when compared to the way those so called ‘values’ are applied to favoured minorities to provide an excuse for a regime change via a colour revolution, but in other instances.
Thus, there would be a huge hue and cry if, for example, China or Russia placed military bases in Mexico and started flying sorties along the US border and siting missile facilities five minutes flying time from New York, Washington and other US cities whilst at the same time attacking and killing thousands of American civilians across the border with snipers, artillery, and missiles with impunity.
Yet the same actions are not just implicitly condoned but actively denied when those who whitter on about “superior Western values” place missiles on the border of other countries, instigate an illegal coup, and arm and support armed militias with nazi tattoos to slaughter civilians of their own Country because they are of the “wrong” ethnicity.
A process which has not stopped at slaughtering civilians – whether ethnic Russians in the Donbass or Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank – but which cancels whole countries from “International” cultural and sporting events and activities for having the bare faced cheek to defend themselves and their populations from attack by these sociopaths . Israel and the USA – despite their blood soaked record – get to participate in events from Eurovision to the Olympics whilst anyone and everyone designated as not being prepared to cry ‘uncle’ from Palestine (denied UN membership by US fiat veto) to Russian, Chinese, Iranian and other Officially designated “enemies” have their athletes, musicians, ballet dances, writers, symphony conductors ,and even religious figures cancelled.
Just like Jayson Gillham’ ; or Jeremy Corbyn and other LP members; or Alison Baily, Kathleen Stock, Keira Bell et al; or Zarah Sultna and Elaina Cohen; or Craig Murry and Julian Assange; and many others.
And, as with Jayson Gillham, anyone who raises these evidence based objective facts is cancelled and outlawed. Smeared as “anti-Semitic” or “Putin Puppets” or “Transphobic” among other invective’s designed to eliminate the Reality Based Community from meaningful and effective existence.

Well, I’m guessing the MSO won’t be engaging with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra any time in the the near future.
The W-E D O was founded, jointly, by Daniel Barenboim(Argentinian Jew) – world renowned conducter/musician – and Edward Saed(Palestinian entrepreneur).
Originally, the orchestra was made up of young Israeli Jewish and young Palestinian musicians. As time has gone one, many other nationalities have become members. Not all at the same time.
I’m not sure if any Australian youngsters have been members. Fairly sure, none from Melbourne have been, although I could be wrong.
