Chancellor Reeves has cut Winter Fuel Allowance for pensioners but claimed heating expenses on top of her salary of over £90k
Right-wing Labour Chancellor Rachel Reeves has become known as ‘Rachel Freeze’ after announcing yesterday that she is scrapping the ‘Winter Fuel Allowance’ (WFA) given to poor pensioners to ensure they can afford to heat their homes. Only the very poorest, those receiving Pension Credit, will now receive the payment, while some 1.5m pensioners – a record number – too poor to retire will not.
The decision is even more foul when Reeves has previously boasted that she was looking forward to a Labour government so that the WFA would be protected:
But the toxic cherry on the crap-cake can be found in Reeves’s parliamentary expenses, which are published on the IPSA website: in the 2023/4 reporting year, Reeves claimed almost £1,300 for utilities for her London MP’s home – including almost £1,200 for energy – while receiving an MP’s salary of more than £90,000:
She will now receive around £72,000 in ministerial salary as Chancellor, as well as living in Downing Street where the taxpayer will cover all bills.
Reeves has been an MP since 2010, but on top of last year’s claims – just since the 2019 general election – she has claimed almost £1,500, despite the early part of the parliament being affected by the pandemic. In the 2010-2019 period, she claimed additional sums: for example £653.58 for electricity and £41.11 for gas in 2018-19 and almost £1,000 in 2017-18.
Reeves has also been disciplined for excessive use of her parliamentary credit card. Parliamentary standards body IPSA suspended her card in 2015 after she was unable to show that more than £4,000 of her spending was valid expenditure.
Despite enjoying a well-heated second home at the taxpayer’s expense for fourteen years and saying that Labour would protect the Winter Fuel Allowance, Ms Reeves has gone further than the Tories did in punishing the old and she is a good match for her fellow Red Tory boss, Sir Kid Starver. Old, young, doesn’t matter – the vulnerable are not safe with what now masquerades as ‘Labour’ government.
The red Labour campaign bus emblazoned with just ‘Change’ should be as much of an embarrassment and reproach to Labour as the Tories’ ‘£350m a week more for the NHS’ Brexit version.

They find it incomprehensible that Keith Starver Reeves types KNOW what they do, CHOOSE to do what they do, and have not the slightest fear of McDonnell, Jeremy, RBL, Owen Joneses etc etc etc.
Such are forever giving “warnings”… NOT to the electorate to be aware of Sir Horrific Nastiness Keith Starver & Co; but instead they are self-satisfied giving their “warnings” and ADVICE to the parasites to do this or that lest they come a cropper.
That eagerness advise parasites, even THIS VERY DAY (eg Owen Jones), proves, to quote another poster, they have “not been paying attention”. Maybe the likes of Owen Jones today STILL believe as John McDonnell does, that he too can “CONVERT PEOPLE”.

Best i can say of some who “laughed”, and refused to pay attention, is they are reluctant to face facts that we are no smarter nor more usefully educated, nor better read than Sir Keith Kid Starver & Reeves et. al. They CHOOSE to do as they do. They KNOW what they do. They have their OWN sordid aims. They are HAPPY to feed the rich more while STARVING the poor. They are happy to enrich the rich with even more, and from the poor, take away the little they have.
