Video: London Police beat man for flying Palestine flag

Police have been filmed in the East End of London beating a man on the street, apparently just for flying a Palestinian flag on his car:

Halima Nyomi, the former Labour staffer who stood as a parliamentary candidate last week, posted the video and asked:

The level of violence by the hands of the London Metropolitan police in East London, for just waving the flag of Palestine. Are we Britain or are we Israel?

Her post attracted outrage from opponents of genocide, but also a stream of racist invective from the far right and supporters of Israel. The Met does not appear to have commented about the incident on its Twitter/X feed.

  1. Of course, none of them will have had their body cameras switched on.

Most of the plod saw nothing, the ones that took part in the “apprehension” were themselves physically assaulted by the assailant and suffered bruised egos after the assailant refused to succumb to their unprovoked assault violently resisted arrest”

And that flag was “being waved about on an overly aggressive manner, likely to cause serious harm; the cuntstubbles concerned were in fear for the safety of the public and themselves

    1. “The man was later cleared of violent disorder, but found guilty of a breach of the peace, bound over for six months for the sum of £50, had to pay each of the cuntstubbles £1k in extortion compensation (as the scrutiny had caused them unnecessary trauma), and he was also banned from flying with delta for life”

  2. Understand the mechanics of this state-sanctioned repression and you will start to notice its deployment more-widely than just the apartheid Israel/occupied Palestine arena. Health, identity, climate, geopolitics- and wherever else the PtB use an Official Narrative, compliant (‘bought’) politicians and a corporate media to assert their repressive control.

    This is a global phenomenon

    1. Not forgetting the covert censorship by the Oligarch class political pimps as recently revealed here:

      https://www.euronews.com/next/2024/07/12/elon-musk-claims-eu-offered-an-illegal-secret-deal-as-x-charged-with-dsa-breaches

“”The European Commission offered X an illegal secret deal: if we quietly censored speech without telling anyone, they would not fine us,” the billionaire tech mogul posted on X.

“The other platforms accepted that deal. X did not”.”

      1. Dave, I’ve been learning a lot about Ursula von der Leyen, the 13th president of the EU commission recently. She is vile (i.e. morally bad and wicked). https://www.nakedcapitalism.com/?s=Ursula+von+der+Leyen
Of course – as with Starmer and Biden et al, – she didn’t just happen by accident. She’s no better than an appointed governor general of an notionally democratic institution – serving the class interests of the PtB.
That one of their number (elon musk) speaks out so effectively against the institutional corruption with which she and her type afflict the EU, beggars belief. I’m not sure what to make of it,

  3. Perhaps they were concerned that it would make his vehicle less aerodynamic and so his petrol would not last so long.

  4. Red Tories will continue to screw people into the ground and their henchman will beat them into the ground
    Recipe for widespread civil unrest

  5. Absolutely shameful. White anti palestinian/muslim cops in a predominantly Muslim area take umbrage at a Palestinisn Flag. They need a f….cking education!

  6. MMmm, dunno Toffee. The Durham Miners’ Association can’t be blamed for all post-thatcher newlabor centrism or the Akehurst warmongering starmtroopers. That’d be like blaming a healthy gallbladder for tooth decay.

That’s why we need a new party.
I wish they’d been were more assertive in their distrust of blair/brown tho’, yeah, but maybe this is a weak start. I’d love to see the Independent MP for Islington North there centre-stage next year.

    1. North Durham CLP can make a start on their road to redemption by triggering the fat, ginger, shortarsed, bullied-at-school beaut.

Get it in now and give the risible, little southern napoleon the message.

  7. As for the Fuhrer he is now particularly vulnerable in government
Any charges of complicity would be a slam dunk In that he is a former Human Rights Lawyer and DPP and therefore has no excuses when it comes to International Law
The third leg of the Devils trifecta is he is now responsible for Government actions in Gaza
Very close to being totally fucked folks

  8. On another matter
When they start assassinating their opponents, then it’s the beginning of the end for the Kleptocracy
No matter what you think of Trump, you can only imagine what he is going to do to those responsible when he walks into power
His response was gutsy and admirable when it wouldn’t take a lot to start a civil war in a country with more guns than people
It happened because Orban took on NATO and after visiting Putin his next port of call was Trump

      1. Presidents and Presidential candidates are not the only target for assassination:

        https://strategic-culture.su/news/2024/07/15/canadian-journalist-survives-israeli-assassination-attempt/

“Canadian citizen and journalist, Laith Marouf, along with Hadi Hotait, were reporting for Free Palestine TV (FPTV) in the south of Lebanon, when the Israeli military attempted to assassinate them.

Laith Marouf described the attack to SCF’s Steven Sahiounie

“The Israeli military have been targeting media workers in Gaza and Lebanon, and even in the West Bank. We can remember before October 7 they assassinated Shireen Abu Akleh in the West Bank.”

“And, now over 160 journalists have been martyred in Gaza, and of course here in Lebanon the Israelis have assassinated four journalists in the south. The enemy is vicious and they do not like people that do journalism work, because that brings the truth to the world. This is especially true for those who write in English.””

And, lest anyone thinks the Stills are scraping the bottom of the barrel in assassinating journalists, you should see what they are doing to Southern Lebanon:

“Lebanese researchers and experts are warning that Israel’s tactics are causing long-term and potentially irreversible damage to south Lebanon’s environment, agriculture and economy, potentially making it uninhabitable.

By March 6, 117 phosphoric bombs had been dropped on southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS).

Israel is using it as part of a larger strategy to push out civilians and make south Lebanon uninhabitable, now and in the future.

The Israeli military knows that white phosphorus is detrimental, that it reignites even up to a month after being dropped, and is toxic to the environment.

The Lebanese side is completely barren land, but the Israelis are cultivating down to the last inch before the border. The White Phosphorus used by Israel is effectively making the south of Lebanon uninhabitable.”

  9. Meanwhile, I see from the Skwawkbox’s latest article that this particular post – made a week ago….

    https://skwawkbox.org/2024/07/08/london-paper-erases-mohamad-almost-unseating-streeting/#comment-256594

    …has predictably not aged well.

For those who missed it, this site’s resident Lord Haw Haw tribute act was crowing about a report which claimed:

“The new Labour government is expected to drop a bid to delay the international criminal court (ICC) reaching a decision on whether to issue an arrest warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu over alleged war crimes in Gaza.”

    Which Skwawkbox is now reporting;

“Israeli newspaper Maariv reports that British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, who visited Israel almost as soon as Labour was elected….has given assurances to the Israeli regime that the UK will maintain its objection to Khan’s application. Starmer had originally indicated that the Labour government would drop its attempt to block the issuance of the warrants and would allow international law to take its proper course.”

You were told on numerous occasions Billy that this charlatan was not to be trusted.

Labour expected to drop challenge to ICC over Netanyahu arrest warrant</b

The new Labour government is expected to drop a bid to delay the international criminal court (ICC) reaching a decision on whether to issue an arrest warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu over alleged war crimes in Gaza.
The development came as Keir Starmer, the new UK prime minister, told the Palestinian Authority president, Mahmoud Abbas, that he believed the Palestinians had an undeniable right to a Palestinian state. Starmer spoke to Abbas on Sunday about the “ongoing suffering and devastating loss of life” in Gaza.
He also spoke to Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, setting out the “clear and urgent” need for a ceasefire in Gaza. “He added that it was also important to ensure the long-term conditions for a two-state solution were in place, including ensuring the Palestinian Authority had the financial means to operate effectively,” a readout of the call said

But you have NO reason to doubt them, do you, soft shite?

    https://skwawkbox.org/2024/07/15/another-starmer-u-turn-uk-will-now-try-to-stop-icc-issuing-arrest-warrants-for-israeli-war-criminals/

I realise it’s difficult for the intellectually incapable, but ffs WHEN are you gonna learn?

    1. Toffee – Unfortunately the article you have linked to has not linked to any independent evidence that support its ‘speculative conclusions.
WE will know on or before July 26th (the ICC’s deadline) whether the UK’s government have decided whether or not to proceed with the Tory’s flawed objections

      1. Toffee – The actual headline of the article that you have linked to is
“UK’s Labour ‘backtracks’ on decision to drop objection to ICC arrest warrants”.
There’s a reason they have put the word backtrack in single quotation marks. The MEE also makes it clear in their article that the report by Maariv is unconfirmed.

      2. Guardian last Wednesday:

        https://www.theguardian.com/law/article/2024/jul/10/america-is-pressuring-uk-to-block-iccs-netanyahu-arrest-warrant

“US ‘pressuring UK to block ICC’s Netanyahu arrest warrant’

Human rights barrister says US expects Labour government to continue UK challenge to proposed action against Israeli PM”

The “special relationship” with the US is the primary red line of the UK Establishment. It is therefore inconceivable that a moral dwarf like Keir Starmer who self describes as a Still will ever put that at risk over a basic human rights issue by not saying “how high” when ordered to jump by the US.

You are clutching at straws, Billy.

      3. Dave – Thanks for the link, I had already read it last week.

Time will tell, you won’t have to wait more than 10 days.
However given the weakness of this case I doubt that the ICC would uphold this objection even if it was proceeded with.

      4. Whether the ICC withhold the objection is not the issue Billy as you well know.

The issue is the claim that the Starmer Government would reverse the objection to the arrest warrant, which was the policy of the other wing of the uni-party.

A claim which you are already reluctantly conceding.

      5. Correct, Dave.

Smarmer, discharging the notion through the press that it is ‘expected’ he may drop his objection to the arrest warrants, is a great ‘act’ of merit, according to the wee gobshite. Hence his sporadic posting of such on several threads last week.

However, any notion that he has already declared his intent not to towards the genocidal Israeli bastards, is imconfirmed’ therefore until such happens, we gobshite’s appraisal stands firm.

And even if keef DOES object, wee gobshite reckons there’ll be no harm done, because he thinks the objection doesn’t have a leg to stand on anyway.

A totally different viewpoint from the time keef ORDERED labour peers to ABSTAIN from giving the children of parents on UC a free school meal, because (to paraphrase): ‘it would’ve made bugger-all difference’ , due to the amount of tories who’d have got it through anyway

Yes people. Keef (or at least the keef-friendly press, on his behalf) can at least diffuse the ridiculous notion that he might appear to doing something (stop laughing) about the Palestinian situation.

But he doesn’t even pretend to bother when it comes to hungry children in his own backyard.

      6. Toffee – Come back and tell us all about it when it has actually happened.🙄

  11. However given the weakness of this case I doubt that the ICC would uphold this objection even if it was proceeded with.

    Oh.

So even if keef does object (despite you posting that link saying he’s “expected” to drop it on several threads) , it doesn’t (or won’t) matter because you think he hasn’t got a leg to stand on.

And yet when keef ORDERED MPs to ABSTAIN on giving kids a school dinner, you pathetically pleaded that it was nothing more than a futile gesture because there weren’t enough MPs to get it through.

You utter, would-be child-harming, nonce-excusing, verminous shitbag. Die screaming.

    1. Toffee – Are you talking about the Education Bill that the Tories were forced into completely abandoning in its entirety?

  12. *WOULD HAVE* been no more than a futile gesture

Fixed. And you’re still an odious, worthless piece of shit.

  13. https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2024-07-18/ty-article/knesset-passes-resolution-against-establishment-of-palestinian-state/00000190-c2c6-d13a-ad92-caffa4b90000

“Israel’s parliament voted on Thursday to affirm its opposition to the establishment of a Palestinian state. The declarative proposal garnered support from 68 Knesset members, including those from Benny Gantz’s centrist National Unity Party. Nine Knesset members from Arab parties opposed the proposal, and members of the Labor Party abstained from voting.”

Wonder how long it will be before Herr Starmer and the rest of his LFI poodles jump six feet into the air to salute that?

Followed, naturally, by Billy no mates gracing us with yet another desperate and pathetic justification?
