Breaking: Spain joins South Africa’s genocide case against Israel at the ICJ

Pedro Sánchez, right, and Benjamin Netanyahu

Spain has announced this morning that it has joined South Africa’s case at the International Court of Justice accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza. Israel’s far-right government and its mouthpieces reacted with fury last month when Spain, along with Ireland and Norway, recognised Palestinian statehood – this latest news will no doubt trigger another wave of smears in defence of Israel’s slaughter of as many as 100,000 Palestinian civilians, mostly women and children, which the UK government and opposition continue to abet.
