Well over 100 civilians murdered as Israeli tanks, gunboats fire on crowd waiting for aid delivery

Terror and chaos in Gaza City after IDF ‘trap’

Injured wait on lorries and a donkey cart (social media image)

More than a hundred Palestinian civilians have been slaughtered and many more injured, after Israeli tanks, gunboats and armoured vehicles opened fire on a crowd of people waiting for a scheduled aid delivery to arrive. The Israeli military has admitted opening fire, claiming that troops felt ‘endangered’. The IDF also tried to blame the civilians for their own deaths, saying some were trampled – presumably as terrified people tried to escape the fire zone.

Some reports have put the death toll at 170, with more than a thousand wounded. Social media posts show the carnage and the attempts to evacuate the injured. The Al Jazeera news service reported that the victims had fallen into a ‘trap’ set by the Israeli military:

Palestinians who witnessed the Israeli attack on aid seekers in Gaza city say it was a trap.

According to human rights group Euro-Med Monitor, Israeli forces have killed almost 40,000 Palestinians in Gaza since 7 October last year, the vast majority of them civilians and a large majority women and children, and have wounded more than 70,000 others, many of them severely. The World Health Organization and others have reported that more than a million people are in, or at imminent risk of, starvation because of Israel’s blockade and military assault, and victims of starvation have already died.

    1. Maybe this is what will finally bring Netanyahu down

      Troubles for Netanyahu
Netanyahu is facing the biggest challenge to his government yet. On 28 February, defence minister Yoav Gallant stated that he wanted to see an end to military draft exemptions for members of the ultra-Orthodox community – a point of considerable political controversy in Israel for decades.
The question of exemption has been a long deferred political dilemma for Netanyahu, and Gallant’s decision could set up a significant clash with the two Haredi parties in the Knesset, which are key to the survival of Netanyahu’s ruling coalition.
Gallant said he would only back legislation if the matter if it is endorsed by centrist war cabinet ministers Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot, who are firmly opposed to military exemptions.
Successive Netanyahu governments have struggled to come to a consensus on legislation dealing with ultra-Orthodox military service since a 2017 High Court decision that determined blanket military service exemptions for ultra-Orthodox yeshiva students to be discriminatory and illegal.

      1. Jenny Gantz,a centrist. Lists among his hobbies, flower arranging and water colours. WTF has the world turned into. I ticked a questionnaire from a yank mag and it turned out that I am a white extremist supremacist. I give up.

    2. …….Not to mention Herr Starmer and his sidekicks who only a few months ago were essentially saying exactly the same thing with their open support for cutting off food, water, medicine etc to Palestinians in Gaza.

Or their unstinting support for the fascist ideology that is Zionism; their months of solid opposition to a ceasefire; their unceasing provision of cover and legitimacy for these war crimes; their constant attacks on anyone contradicting their support for genocide etc. etc. etc.

No one is convinced by the sheer inconsistency of your virtue signalling Billy whilst ever you continue to offer unconditional public support for the Starmer Junta on an almost hourly basis.

      1. Dave – Oh dear, are you having a laugh? You are the one who supports the corrupt wannabe imperialist Putin.

      2. Oh do grow up with your evidence free bullshit Billy. Only little children like yourself hide from the facts behind this puerile nonsense.

      3. Dave – ….and what puerile nonsense would that be?😕

Dave – Oh dear, are you having a laugh?

I very much doubt it, soft ollies.

Care to name a single poster on here you’ve convinced about anything – other than your manifest imbecility?

        No?

        Case closed

      5. Toffee – Why would I (or anyone else) care one way or t’other what you think.

      6. Then why would you bother answering…with the same mind-numbingly repetitive bollocks as you never fail to do?

        Tedious twunt.

      7. Toffee – Don’t worry there is bound to be someone out there who has been impressed by your efforts.

      8. (Video 18minutes)
The Black Dress: Unveiling the Truth about Rape, Sexual Assault on October 7
        Palestine Chronicle TV
While sexual assaults on Palestinian women are as old as the Israeli war on the Palestinians, starting during the years of the Nakba – the ethnic cleansing of Palestine in 1948 – there is little evidence that Palestinians utilized sexual violence in their struggle against the Israeli occupation.
Yet, on December 28, the US’ so-called newspaper of record, The New York Times, claimed, in a supposedly comprehensive report entitled ‘Screams without Words: How Hamas Weaponized Sexual Violence on Oct. 7’, that Israeli women were raped on October 7. The report was first published digitally on December 28, then in print on December 31.
Two leading Palestinian media organizations, The Palestine Chronicle and Friends of Palestine Network, conducted a joint investigation, based on media reports, in addition to historical and political analyses.
The outcome of their investigation resulted in the launch of ‘The Black Dress’, an 18-minute documentary looking into The New York Times allegations and the possible falsification of evidence regarding what has truly transpired on October 7.

      9. And there’s bound to be someone convinced AND impressed by yours.

Most likely a wannabe idf spokesman, but most definitely some friendless, humourless and thoroughly reprehensible, like-minded nonce-case.

      10. – everything revolves around a single individual.

        – any and all inconvenient facts are ignored and dismissed.

        – general principles are selectively applied on the basis of exceptionalism.

        – objectivity is discarded in favour of the narrative of a made up ‘reality’.

        – real life is treated as a mere spectator sport…….

        – …….resulting in simplistic sloganeering being substituted for grown up analysis.

        – preference for;

        – projection
        – distraction
        – distortion

        – inability to accept and parrot anything outside The Official Narrative……..

        – …….which is a manifestation of those who always want to have their own way rather than accept other peoples also have their own needs and interests……

        – …….which itself is a manifestation of a collective superiority complex.

Now off you go and find some more dead cats to slam on the table Billy.

      11. Dave – For goodness sake get over yourself.
The only – projection, distraction and distortion I can see here is from you.

      12. Don’t worry Billy, these people will help you out with your myopia problem:

  1. History tells us that Israel’s IDF have long been the easy tools of state violence. The current shame I feel is directed at those in the UK we ‘look to’ for news (real news, the Guardian, some MSM TV news reports). Our media should hang their heads!

    1. Martin, with all respect, you might but we don’t all look for the truth in those rags. At least in the gutter you might stumble on a quid but you won’t stumble on the truth in the profit motivated media unless by mistake.

      1. Of course, Alexander, I am in agreement. It’s difficult to always convey exactly what one means in so few words. What I should have written is, ‘should be able to look to.’ Although I often read and watch BBC, Guardian, Channel 4 I have decreasingly low expectations.

  2. I am now totally indifferent to the fate of Israel.

Utterly and completely indifferent. If it was to be flattened by teatime today I’d be unable to give less of a shite.

    So arrest me.

  3. Israel forfeited the right to exist long ago. Send them all back to Europe now. Fascist scum.

    So arrest me, too!

  4. We see the results of military action in Gaza by the IDF
everyday on the TV news – they have not been sparing to do
them justice. The public in the UK are outraged by the deaths
and destruction and support a ceasefire. The relatives of
the remaining hostages are also demanding a ceasefire in
order to facilitate the release of their relatives.

Our newspapers are a disgrace and I
have found that the Israeli press eg Haaretz and even
the “Times of Israel”*** provide a better account.

Of course Netanyahu’s motive is for his own survival which
is why he has accepted in his coalition any group who are willing
to further this. Support for Meir Kahane features in one or
more of these groups – where the afore-mentioned “Kahane” was
a US born Israeli who was elected to the Knesset in 1984 despite
convictions for terrorism. While there his speeches were
boycotted by other members for racism and the political party
he founded “Kach” was subsequently deemed terrorist. He was
    banned from standing again.

*** I think that the Editor of that paper would definitely be questioned
for the headline indicating that “Netanyahu had been propping up Hamas
    for years”!

    1. True enough. Haratz have been at the vanguard of exposing lies about mass rapes, tortures and beheading. Not that our own Eddy Grant would ever admit.

  5. https://www.moonofalabama.org/2024/02/zionists-use-food-bait-to-attract-and-kill-starving-civilians.html#more

“The Zionist are deliberately starving Palestinians.

    But this is even worse.

The killing today was not by chance. I do not believe that it was unintentional. The food deliveries were under Israeli controls. So were the troops who killed the Palestinians who tried to collect the ‘aid’.

This is not the first time that a food convoy or aid distribution has been used by the Zionists to attract and then kill starving Palestinians.

This is an extremely brutal and cynical way to genocide them.”

    —————————————————————–

All actions which have the full support of every section of the UK political elite, their scribes, and their foaming at the mouth cheerleaders. Cheerleaders who pretend to be against this genocide whilst at the same time unconditionally supporting those who openly condone it.

  6. “I am now totally indifferent to the fate of Israel.”
I concur with the eloquent Toffee’s second post here today.
I will no-longer refer to that Middle-Eastern power by its biblical name, but instead describe the state formerly known as Isr*el as “the ZI-O-IFs” or, in full, the (US-backed) <ZIOnist Imperial Fascist state.

    Zi-o-IFs, the world’s major creator of anti-Semitism.
