Video: mass demos defy flag ban to march in support of Palestinians

Huge displays of solidarity and defiance in London and around the UK

Hundreds of thousands have flooded the streets of London, Liverpool, Glasgow and other cities around the UK to support Palestinians and call for an end to Israel’s genocide in Gaza – and to defy the political establishment’s attempt to ban displays of solidarity with oppressed Palestinians.

Home Secretary Suella Braverman has told police forces to treat even the wearing or showing of the Palestinian flag as a criminal act to avoid offending Israel’s extreme-right government and those who support it – and some have already been arrested – but the mass gatherings are challenging the state’s contempt for humanity and human rights, with footage showing a sea of people, many carrying Palestine flags and representations of them:

The French have shown similar contempt for Macron’s ban on Palestinian symbols. Meanwhile, Germany has disgracefully made the Palestinian freedom slogan, ‘From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free’ a criminal offence, despite Israel’s apparent plan, as former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has observed, to obliterate Gaza.

The Starmeroid Labour party ‘opposition’, meanwhile, has sided unequivocally with the oppressors and their apartheid regime, backing Israel’s ‘right’ to commit war crimes against Palestinians – and has banned MPs from participating in pro-Palestinian demos.
