Labour makes Streeting’s political consultant boyfriend Stockton W candidate

Joe Dancey has been selected by Labour to stand for the party in the Stockton West constituency. ‘Political consultant’ company owner Dancey is Starmeroid shadow health secretary and arch-right-winger Wes Streeting’s partner.

Streeting is a London MP and the pair own a house together in the capital, so of course it makes perfect sense for the people of a north-east seat to have his partner as Labour candidate. According to his PR bio, Dancey ‘divides his time between London and the north-east’. Labour has rigged so many longlists and shortlists to deprive members of a meaningful choice of potential candidates that it has become routine, but of course there was no such nonsense in this case.

‘Lovely man’ Dancey’s selection was welcomed by Paul Williams, the misogyny-tainted remainer candidate, selected in a Starmer-faction stitch-up, who lost nearby Brexit-voting Hartlepool to the Tories in last year’s by-election in that north-east seat.
