One of strongest performers in the parliamentary left, Zarah Sultana, is publicly backing Howard Beckett for the nomination to stand as the left’s candidate in the next general secretary of giant union Unite:
Sultana’s outspoken effectiveness on a range of issues has made her one of the most attacked of Labour’s 2019 intake of MPs, so her backing will carry significant weight – even more so as it is just the latest in a constant flow of strong endorsements by the union’s grassroots and heavyweights of the Labour movement.
