The Labour Representation Committee (LRC) has backed Birkenhead councillor Jo Bird in the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) by-elections.
The LRC, which yesterday backed Deborah Hobson for the other member-elected position and Hassan Ahmed for the NEC’s BAME position, has updated its website.
The LRC is one of the constituent members of the Centre-Left Grassroots Alliance (CLGA), which has not yet announced a ‘slate’ of left candidates because of the reported failure of Momentum to cooperate in recent selection meetings.
Bird, who is also backed by Jewish Voice for Labour, currently leads the nominations by local Labour parties, last night adding Chelmsford to the thirty or so who had already voted to support her.
Bird’s candidate statement can be read here.

Good. Certainly better than a knee-jerk ‘left’ position based on rhetoric.
Well at least its the correct picture, the BBC is at it again with black face racism.Dawn Butler this time With the BBC again thinking “they all look the same” …They may apologise but thats not good enough with 2wrong captions in less than 7days,and they are well known.I don’t know which public school they are recruiting from nowadays but can we move into the 21st century….or better still get rid and do the diverse population and the Labour party a favour.!
JVL has some very good articles. I urge readers of this blog to visit it regularly.

“JVL has some very good articles.”
Indeed, Tony – it’s coverage of relevant issues is of the highest quality.
… which is why the MSM won’t touch it with a bargepole, whilst being quite happy to cite Pollard’s ‘Jewish Chrionicle’ Tory rag.
