Campbell praises Corbyn’s new office manager

Leading remainer Alastair Campbell has praised Jeremy Corbyn’s newly-appointed office manager Helene Reardon Bond OBE:

Ms Reardon Bond, whose appointment was recommended by Lord Kerslake – who according to The Times has been close to John McDonnell for decades and has been ‘advising the party’ – is taking up the role following Chief of Staff Karie Murphy’s secondment to Labour’s Southside HQ.

  1. What’s he trying to do ? Turn us all against her? Praise from Campbell is certainly no recommendation . Anyway he is not a member and who is appointed to any position within the party is not his concern.

      1. Well I’m well over the moon, so glad the truth came out.

  2. Praise from Caesar is praise indeed.

It’s like the pope congratulating you on losing your virginity ffs.

  3. The problem with Labour Party internal politicking is that the conspiracy theories and paranoia can become so rife that they end up disappearing up their own backsides 🙂

    1. Yep, except it appears that alistair ‘people’s vote’ campbell’s own ‘arris refused him permission to disappear up it; it’s that paranoid.

  4. Not quite what I was expecting when checking for news about Chris Williamson…

I too find the point of this post eludes me.

    1. Judgement was due to be delivered at 16:00 today so you’ll probably have to wait a bit longer before it gets online.

    2. BREAKING NEWS

A High Court judge has ruled that the Labour Party acted unlawfully when it it reopened a disciplinary case against the Derby North MP Chris Williamson. He’d been suspended over alleged anti Semitism. Mr Justice Pepperall said the matter should be dealt with with a warning

      1. But is this verdict binding on the Labour party or can it be ignored/circumvented?

        Thanks anyway, Steve.

    3. UPDATE on Chris Williamson

Giving judgment on Thursday, Mr Justice Pepperall ruled that “the Labour Party acted unfairly in that there was no proper reason for reopening the case against Mr Williamson”.

However, the judge found that there was “nothing in the new allegations, the timing of the letter of 3 September or the decision to suspend that entitles me to take the view upon the papers that the Labour Party is acting either unfairly or other than in good faith”.

He added: “I therefore refuse relief in respect of Mr Williamson’s recent re-suspension. The new disciplinary case must run its course.”

      1. I just this minute turned on BBC News 24, and across the bottom of the screen re ‘Breaking News’, they’re saying:

Chris Williamson loses High Court bid to be reinstated to Labour Party

And it keeps coming up repeatedly – as they do – amongst several other items (three of them related to Chris – ie ‘Derby North MP was suspended from party over anti-Semitism claims’

      2. Just to be clear re above:

So it’s flashing ‘Breaking’ across the bottom of the screen, and then the first item that comes up is the one about him losing his High Court bid, then the next one that comes up is the one about him having been suspended from the party over alleged anti-Semitism claims, and then the next one that comes up says:

‘High Court says Labour Party acted unfairly reopening Williamson case’

And then there’s one that comes up about a different news item, and then it’s back to ‘Breaking’ and then repeating the four items again….. and again again and again!

Anyway, I’m just gonna check Sky News

  5. Re Chris Williamson ‘the judge found that there was “nothing in the new allegations, the timing of the letter of 3 September or the decision to suspend that entitles me to take the view upon the papers that the Labour Party is acting either unfairly or other than in good faith”. So what are the allegations for the 3rd September that the judge alludes to?? This stinks!

    1. Of course it stinks. The Labour Party doesn’t want true Socialist anti war MPs who bravely question, it wants media friendly luvvies that talk the talk but have a covert agenda and are committed western exceptionalists. That’s why i say nothing much has changed.

      1. The exceptionalism comes from the top as even Corbyn feels he has the right to dictate to Syria which foreign assistance it legally asks for to assist in the vicious western led attack on, looting and dismemberment of Syria and the ongoing suffering of its people under criminal sanctions… NATO and regional allies, in Syria illegally need to sling their hooks and take their terror proxies and plundering mercenaries and spooks with them.

Western bloc(k) continues its drive to destroy countries, dividing them into sectarian blocks that can easily be plundered through criminal deals with local armed gangs.

  6. The judge will be labeled by the morning as a AS fascist.. And now for the usual suspects trial by media.. Wait for it now take a bow Chris Williamson..our next deputy leader!

    1. What trial, that’s old hat… state and corporate media will just spew out fake news aka what they want the public to believe..

  7. Chris Williamson will survive these attacks and the leadership will be aware that the membership will not tolerate him being thrown under the bus.And neither will my membership….My bets on I will be renewing my membership under a Labour government.next year

  8. Have to say that the OBE bit bothers me …. maybe it is just prejudice on my part but I can’t shake it off. She doesn’t sound like a Corbyn supporter.

    1. Sue….I have to repeat every day..don’t judge a book by its cover. Its not working but I keep trying?
