Establishment ‘journalists’ and centrist politicians – along with the occasional rattled ‘blue-tick’ left-wing commentator – have decided to greet the accession of a new hard-right Prime Minister by attacking Jeremy Corbyn.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
This distasteful alliance has claimed that Jeremy Corbyn is essentially ‘AWOL’ (absent without leave) – not showing a high enough profile. The blame is usually put on his closest advisers, who are supposedly hiding him.
But there’s another very familiar aspect to this latest attack – utter inaccuracy and incompetence.
While moaners moan, or turn their fire on the opposition instead of the culprits in government (told you it was a familiar look), Jeremy Corbyn has been preparing for a major public rally in Manchester tomorrow, to galvanise support for Labour and resistance to Boris Johnson and his Cabinet of sociopaths:
Corbyn didn’t leave it until Friday, though. He was out making a strong speech at a rally outside Parliament to demand a general election, as actor and leftie Rob Delaney tweeted:
The Manchester rally is expected to be the first of many as Corbyn continues his usual relentless schedule and general-election footing. The event will take place tomorrow evening from 5pm to 6pm. For security purposes, the precise location will be confirmed to those who register to attend.

Well for security reasons we can’t be told where the rally is?This is Jeremy Corbyn…..Loved by many but hated by the establishment!…Will be keen to hear the story afterwards…..
Just read the piece about Johnson…..Boris will be the one needing security if he has the guts to show is face at a public meeting in Manchester…..Corbyn will be welcome like a mesia if the meeting becomes known…?
Ps….Boris sneaked into Manchester today……stage managed promising NPowerhouse….think Osborne already did that one!…..and nothing?…. Boris Johnson thinks anything north of Eton must be peasants,and so insult their intelligence.Off to leeds next to offer them all cure snake oil and glass beads….Wheres Watson?….job with Mann maybe working direct for the torys instead of subcontract?

Or attending a rally in Parliament Square or going to another one in Manchester tomorrow!
Nothing Jeremy does will ever be enough for some people. Luckily we all know who these people are and we weigh their criticisms accordingly.

Its worrying that his rallies and public speeches are not being publicised as they used to be. Has there genuinely been reason to notch up security? Is he even more at threat than normal?
Last time I went to a Corbyn speech at Manchester cathedral, 8000 were outside unable to get in. Where will this one be?
Cindy I am assuming specific threats have been made… Why else the security imposition?
Disappointed not to be able to attend the rally in Manchester, as already fully booked. Is it a specific security threat? or is it indoors with a definite capacity?
The security stuff isn’t particularly new.
Back in the good ole’ days of Tone and chums :-), I remember getting invited to ‘events’ where you were sworn to secrecy – and it was invitation only.
Before anyone jumps – I never went – it wasn’t difficult to find something better to do 🙂
