Wirral Labour sends message to ‘Robinson’: “your hatred and division are not welcome here”

Labour members respond to far-right figure’s planned appearance on Merseyside
A sparse gathering to hear ‘Robinson’ in Bolton yesterday

Labour members have sent a clear message to ‘Tommy Robinson’, the far-right former EDL leader who is scheduled to appear on the Wirral later today as part of his campaign to be elected to the European Parliament.

A Twitter message from the Wirral Labour account warns ‘right wing hate speaker’ Robinson that he and his message will not find a welcome – and calls on local people to unite to get that message across:

SKWAWKBOX view:

The low attendance at Robinson’s Bolton event pictured above shows the appetite for his message does not match the hype – but he must still be rejected and resisted everywhere he tries to find an audience for his despicable politics.

  1. Whilst Robinson is unwanted anywhere (except in Israel, when he visits his employers), I have to say it’s a bigger turnout than what the ice cream man from Abergavenny got

  2. It’s great to hear this, but on Wirral, things ain’t always what they seem.

Long-serving senior councillor, former council leader and Mayor Steve Foulkes and his Labour member wife (now confirmed), may not be involved in sending such an unwelcoming message to Yaxley-Lennon / Robinson. tbh, why on earth should they?

It’s completely and utterly disgraceful, was NEVER reported by the captured Merseyside local press, and it was left to Private Eye to fill the reporting vacuum:

  3. The far right barbarians (often funded by the rich) try to divide diverse working people, because they are insular politcal morons and thus line up with the rich and powerful as someone once said as “the emergency committee of capital.”
We are for all working people (who have to sell their labour to live) – the many not the few.
