Suspended Scottish Labour councillors’ latest attempt to collaborate with Tories rejected by SEC

Last year, Scottish Labour suspended an entire group of councillors for persistently trying to form a coalition with the Tories. It seems they – and many Labour MSPs (members of Scottish Parliament) have learned nothing since.

The MSPs are said to be unhappy about the decision by the Scottish Executive (SEC) to reject Aberdeen Labour councillors’ – who are still suspended – latest proposed coalition deal with the Tories on the council:

Unbelievably, the MSPs’ main source of unhappiness appears to be that they had apparently ordered MSP representatives on the SEC to vote for the coalition deal and they – Monica Lennon and Mary Fee – voted against it. Well done to Lennon and Fee.

Most MSPs voted for the right-winger Anas Sarwar in last year’s Scottish leadership election. It seems they’ve already forgotten the electoral disaster for Labour in Scotland that followed it being perceived as too onside with the Tories during the independence referendum – or they just can’t help themselves cosying up to their natural bedfellows.

As in the Westminster party, the need for a clear-out of ‘red Tory’ MPs only grows more obvious.

Congratulations to the SEC – and Fee and Lennon – for realising that working with the Tories can only be bad for the Labour Party and a disaster for the people of the UK who desperately need an end to Tory government.

  1. There seems to have been a great deal of collusion during the general election at constituency level too in order to beat the SNP.

  2. I for one, if Labour ever collaborate with the “ENEMY, THE TORIES”!
I would form another Labour Party for those whose views are left leaning, need only apply!
We don’t need no collaboration with, “ANY RIGHT WING GROUP”!
