It was New Labour with the Blairites, Brown and the Miliband that lost the last two general elections not Jeremy Corbyn. What further set the stage for New Labour’s defeat was that there was hardly a fag paper’s difference between theirs and the Tories’ policies.
As for Jeremy Corbyn, what qualifies, Kinnock, Blair, Brown, Miliband, Mandelson, Kinnock junior or anyone else to judge Corbyn’s leadership qualities or election chances? Between them Kinnock, Brown and Miliband lost four elections in their combined 17 year leadership. And Blair whilst winning three elections, lost five million Labour votes and between them set in train the conditions for the return of another toxic Tory government. The last two elections Blair won was because he was seen as a lesser evil than the Tories. The word was that Labour was bad but the Tories were a whole lot worse.
