The Establishment assault against the independent ‘new left media’ (NLM) has escalated relentlessly over recent months, with smears by government figures and the mainstream media (MSM).
One of the least savoury recent elements of these smears has been the abuse by the MSM of decisions by the only genuinely-independent regulator, IMPRESS, to attack NLM outlets.
The MSM has voraciously seized upon an IMPRESS decision – which amounted to saying that the Canary should have said Laura Kuenssberg, the political editor of the ‘impartial’ BBC, had been invited to the Tory conference fringe instead of to the Tory conference – to launch an assault on the Canary’s credibility.
Similar tactics have been used against the SKWAWKBOX.
The inherent dishonesty of the MSM ploy is that their publications publish corrections and retractions almost every day – in spite of being ‘regulated’ by IPSO, which is run by the very same MSM.
Foxes in the chicken coop judging themselves harmless – and yet even then they have to publish those corrections and retractions. So to leap on the occasional, minor correction published by the NLM as proof of ‘fake news’ is deeply hypocritical at the very least.
But today the MSM’s attempts to smear the NLM entered surreal territory, with the publication of a bizarre article in the Mail on Sunday by a commentator who, only earlier this year, came out as a Tory. It is titled, without apparent irony:

Make no mistake, the Establishment is coming after the independent left media that millions rely on to genuinely hold power to account and expose the Establishment’s behaviour and propaganda.
And it has neither shame nor sense of irony about how it does so.

Fake News faking the truth.
The Daily Express is a sick joke along with the rest of the lying media, that’s why they are losing circulation, because even staunch Tories can’t stomach the level of propaganda they disgorge.

I have long came to the conclusion that all MSM should not be taken as gospel but rather provoke the mind further into research to get to the truth and that is why I turn to NLM etc.
For each attack on the NLM ,using Impress as a weapon , only makes the creditability and honesty of the SB and Canary that much stronger
It is a epic fail by those in the establishment Tory Trolls Graham Hindson on the SB and Jamie Thunder on the Canary.
When the details of those complaints are viewed they are shown as very minor in substance , compare this to the MSM Express Mail etc and the horrendous fake news stories they run , and then the laughable judgements from their Independent IPOS regulator .
So keep on failing Tory Trolls , it only makes the NLM stronger and I wish all those on the Left a happy Xmas and great New yr keep up the fantastic work SB and Canary et al NLM .For the tory trolls well , ti’s the season of good will so I will only wish you showers of shit rather than what I’d normally wish upon you and your ilk.

It is vital for all of us living in so called democracies to search out different perspectives, to go to source whenever possible and think for ourselves so we can make sense of the chaotic ‘news’ and propaganda being spewed out of traditional ‘news’ outlets in service of political, ideological, geostrategic and profit, rent seeking goals.
Reasons2Remain journalist Jon Danzig has been attacked on FB and blocked as have I for supporting him. I pondered who was responsible and though probably MSM. On reading this I reckon I was right. Who or what is running this country?
Dan Hodges (the “journalist”) either has no sense of irony or he’s forgotten that a different Tory tried that one on in 1995:
“If it falls to me to start a fight to cut out the cancer of bent and twisted journalism in our country with the simple sword of truth and the trusty shield of fair play, so be it. I am ready for the fight.”
