Milton Regis: Labour finishes eating UKIP lunch in Kent

As the SKWAWKBOX reported this morning, huge gains saw Labour humiliate the Tories and UKIP by taking Margate Central from UKIP and installing a Labour councillor in Worthing for the first time in over 40 years, in the previously-Tory Marine seat.

UKIP’s day went from bad to worse as Labour finished eating the near-defunct kippers’ lunch and trampled on its lunchbox for good measure with a stellar win in the Kent seat of Milton Regis with an even bigger gain than in Margate Central:

Labour also took the Tories’ crisps by inflicting a 9.8% loss in share on the hapless and chaotic Conservatives.

Nigel Farage was reportedly seen doing a ‘dying fish’ impression on social media:

In the remaining result of the six last night, Labour and the Tories each held onto a seat in King’s Lynn, in spite of the LibDems standing a candidate unlike in 2015, so it was a good day all round for Labour and strong evidence that Jeremy Corbyn continues to manage the tricky Brexit issue just right, in spite of smears by the media and sabotage by a few laughably-termed ‘moderates’.

  1. Good day indeed for Labour. In St Margaret and St Nicholas the by-election had come about due to the laziness and arrogance of the incumbent Labour councillor (she lives across the road from the Town Hall, and a few minutes walk from the council’s other main meeting place on Chapel Street, and never bothered to attend meetings), so for Labour to well there (my ward) was not expected. The Liberal Democrat candidate happens also to be my aunt, so IN SPITE of the party she was representing I did vote for her. There was also a Green candidate standing there who I know to have some local support, and for whom I might in other circumstances have voted. I defy even the Daily Heil to spin this set of results as being bad for Labour!

  2. SPIN ALL YOU LIKE THE RIGHT!
TELL YOUR LIES, CAN YOU NOT HEAR OUR CRIES?
    WE KNOW THE TRUTH.
UNLIKE THOSE TOADS, WHO ARE NOW FEELING IT WEIGHING DOWN, ON THEIR LOSS TO LABOUR, WHO HAVE COME THRU EVERY LIE, MUD SLINGING, HYPOCRITICAL JIBE THROWN AT OUR LEADER JEREMY C!
NOT RIGHT, NOT MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, BUT WHY IT WAS SET UP TO COUNTER WHAT THE TORIES HAVE STOOD FOR SINCE THEY WERE FORMED (THEMSELVES AND THEIR ILK).
    ONWARD AND UPWARD, JC4PM!
