Ken Loach on the Labour right: “Like Les Dawson in drag”

Had the enormous privilege today of meeting film industry giant Ken Loach:

World-famous director Ken Loach just now (and a bit of the not-very-famous author)

He had some harsh words for the right-wing delegates at Labour’s 2016 conference who stubbornly remained seated as the vast majority of the hall rose to acclaim shadow Chancellor John McDonnell’s excellent speech today, showing (again) that they have no interest in outstanding policies that can take Labour back into government:

They sat there, arms folded and grimacing – looking like Les Dawson in drag!

Loach, whose amazing film ‘I, Daniel Blake’ recently reduced jaded Cannes film critics to tears, clearly knows how to encapsulate the truth in a pithy sentence.

Indeed, Ken. Indeed.
