Kumar cooks Burnham’s ‘first 100 days’ whitewash

Green party anti-genocide campaigner Ashok Kumar is well known for reducing Israel supporters to burbling wrecks over the Greens’ ‘Zionism is racism’ declaration. But he also cooks prime ministers.

Burnham: boast v reality

New PM Andy Burnham tried to present his ‘more of the same’ premiership as a beacon of change and fulfilled promises. But Kumar was ready with a far more accurate list of how Burnham has represented nothing more than ‘continuity Starmer’, or indeed in some cases taken Starmer’s war on UK rights and democracy, his collaboration in Israel’s genocide in Palestine, his collusion in wars of aggression and his war on the poor, even further:

Here’s the full list:

  1. Armed Israel while it commits genocide in Gaza.
  2. Provided Israel with daily surveillance reports to help it kill more people in Gaza.
  3. Provided bases and military support for the US war on Iran.
  4. Provided refuelling support for Saudi Arabia’s war on Yemen.
  5. Arrested hundreds of Palestine activists.
  6. Kept the Palestine Action ban in place.
  7. Barred leading scholars from entering Britain.
  8. Banned books by bestselling authors.
  9. Capitulated to the oil and gas lobby, approving new North Sea gas extraction.
  10. Committed to a massive military spending spree, diverting billions from public investment.
  11. Made it harder for migrants to secure permanent residency.
  12. Continued the war on asylum seekers.
  13. Tightened welfare assessments to cut benefit spending.
  14. Threatened pension security.
  15. Abandoned my proposal to cap political donations.
  16. Redirected international climate finance to fund domestic transport subsidies.

None of this is any surprise. Burnham may have more personality than Keir Starmer – anything above zero is more – but he is handled by exactly the same Israel fanatics and red Tories that ran Starmer.
