Murdoch hack boasts of award nomination for Arday smears

Murdoch ‘education’ hack Jack Grove is boasting about being shortlisted for a journalism award for his scribblings about the late Prof Jason Arday’s supposed “extensive plagiarism”. Mr Grove is so chuffed, in fact, that he has ‘pinned’ his X post about it to the top of his profile:

Multiple exonerations

Grove states the “extensive plagiarism in [Arday’s] PhD thesis” as fact. But the real fact is that Arday’s university investigated the allegations and found no plagiarism. Three scientific journal publishers likewise investigated – and likewise found Arday innocent.

Yet Grove not only continues to treat his smears – which are the root of a pile-on by white supremacists and ‘mainstream’ media that led to Jason Arday’s death – as if they are fact. Commentators “Everyday Racism” gave more detail:

Grove’s nonsense was seized on and amplified by white supremacists eager to argue that Black people are less intelligent than whites. At the forefront of this was racist Israel-supporter Cofnas. Cofnas is an ‘academic’ twice suspended by universities for his views, whose own work has been described by colleagues as “a flood of shit”.

Cofnas triggered international headlines among right-wing media eager to amplify his claims that Black people are less intelligent. To their shame, ‘liberal’ ‘msm’ publications joined in, despite knowing they were putting Arday in danger. Now Oxford University is hosting Cofnas for an event to amplify those views and attack measures to improve equality.

A country that amplifies racism and nominates the ‘journalist’ who started a deadly pile-on with false allegations is broken. Even more so when he feels no need of shame and instead boasts about it.
