Professor Jason Arday, the Cambridge academic hounded to death by UK ‘mainstream’ media after allegations by white supremacist Nathan Cofnas, has been cleared of plagiarism. Again.
Racist Israel-supporter Cofnas, whose own work has been described by colleagues as “a flood of shit”, triggered international headlines among right-wing media eager to amplify Cofnas’s claims that Black people are less intelligent. To their shame, ‘liberal’ ‘msm’ publications joined in, despite knowing they were putting Arday in danger.
No evidence
An investigation by scientific publisher Taylor and Francis has concluded without finding any evidence to substantiate the plagiarism allegations against Prof Arday. An earlier investigation by publisher MDPI had likewise found claims of plagiarism against Arday to be without substance.
Unsurprisingly, UK ‘mainstream’ media have ignored these exonerations. Meanwhile, a billionaire-funded, far-right anti-equality campaign group that calls itself the ‘Committee for Academic Freedom’ is holding an ‘inquiry‘ in an apparent attempt to prolong and whitewash the smears. The inquiry will be headed by a Tory peer who led an inquiry that dismissed institutional Islamophobia in the Tory party and who “believes that…institutional racism doesn’t exist”.
The ‘independent investigation’ also includes academic Steven Pinker, another critic of equality measures, who has been accused of minimising racial injustice and has repeatedly defended Nathan Cofnas. Alongside Pinker will sit anti-trans academic Alice Sullivan, anti-woke ‘historian’ Robert Tombs and anti-immigration Labour peer Maurice Glasman.
Black British Culture highlighted the profound lack of interest of UK ‘msm’ in Arday’s exoneration compared to their frenzied amplification of the smears against him:
The accusations against Jason Arday made international headlines. Yet the latest report that another investigation has not substantiated plagiarism allegations has received little coverage in the news sources we checked. … Where is the same energy for this finding? If allegations deserve headlines, findings in his favour deserve them too. Jason deserved fairness while he was alive. His family should not have to fight for people to hear this part of the story.
Next month, Oxford University is hosting an event to promote Cofnas’s racist views.

The injustice is choking! SHAME on us all!
Chikingly shameful!
