Hacked AfD emails expose nazi ideology

Hackers have released more than 420,000 messages obtained from far-right German political party ‘Alternative für Deutschland’ (AfD) email servers. The emails have already been shown to include references to nazi ideology, Islamophobic and antisemitic comments, though German state and media investigators have only just started working their way through the information.

Gigabytes of data

AfD has claimed that the hacked emails come from accounts that ‘mostly’ had been inactive for years. German media reports indicate that the almost 300 gigabytes of data include messages from AfD co-leader Alice Weidel. The party says it is investigating the hack; German authorities are also including the data in its investigation of the extremist party.

UK ‘mainstream’ media largely appear to be ignoring the hack. Why press and broadcasters, owned by the state or by billionaires, that have eagerly amplified the racist incitements of Reform and its ilk should wish to avoid news exposing AfD’s racism can only be imagined.
