Starmer’s recycled Thatcherism destroying Labour in NE former stronghold shows the YP/Green left working together is the UK’s hope of defeating fascism

Keir Starmer’s destruction of the Labour continues to accelerate, with polling averages showing the shell of the party that remains under his Thatcher-Blair hybrid war on the disabled, the sick, people with mental health problems and our human rights, combined with his continuing collaboration in Israel’s genocide of almost half a million people in tiny Gaza and his attempt to be more fascist than Farage on refugees and policing.

Starmer’s party now shows aggregate polling of Westminster voting intention at the lowest levels in more than a century – and the picture looks no better for the appalling ‘toolmaker’s son’ at local election level, where the scale of the country’s disgust is even more clearly laid out.

in 2017, with Jeremy Corbyn as leader – the one Starmer and his cronies claim showed the unpopularity of left politics – Labour held ninety-four of Durham County Council’s ninety-eight seats. In 2025, it holds just four:

The arrogance and utter bankruptcy of Starmer’s rotting husk of a party is driving the UK toward fascism. Meanwhile, the ‘disastrous’ Corbyn – who received far more votes in 2017 and 2019 than Starmer’s ‘landslide’ of 2024 – has seen ‘Your Party’, co-founded with Zarah Sultana, reach a membership of just under a million before it is even formally named or constituted.

Starmer has taken ‘Labour’ beyond the event horizon of a political black hole; the hope of the UK avoiding fascism, and saving the NHS, the poor, the vulnerable and our rights, rests on Your Party and the Greens under – fingers crossed for the sake of the future – Zack Polanski working together across the country to galvanise the ‘human being’ vote.

Skwawkbox is a critical friend of Your Party and has written that it needs to jettison some of those around Corbyn who have not learned the lessons of 2019, especially that the best armour against the right’s antisemitism scam is proud and defiant anti-Zionism that treats that racist, murderous ideology as what most of the country has recognised it to be.

But whatever the early flaws of Your Party and the Greens, they are the sole realistic alternative is fascism and every vote for Starmer’s rotting Labour is a vote thrown into the black hole.
